you need to solder the power wires of the BEC in with the power wires for the esc. Then remove the red wire from the esc reciever plug and heat shrink it. Then you just plug it back in. The BEC reciever plug will need to be plugged into the reciever in the battery input of the reciever. Thats it

the red wire is the power to the servos from the esc. When you run an external BEC oyu have to disconnect the one from the esc or you will fry it. As for programing the bec to 6v, yes you will want to do that.

DON"T CUT THE RED WIRE!!! Just remove the red wire from the plug by releasing the lock tab in the plug. Just slide it out. Then cover the wire end with heat shrink.

Just got a CC BEC. But I didn't realize it is programmed via USB. I already have a Mamba Max. If I connect the BEC to my system, will the Castle link software recognize the BEC as well and enable me to program it? Or do I still have to buy the separate Castle link USB interface?

I did some searches on this, but couldn't find any answers yet.

Thanks!

Yes you need the CCBEC interface to program the CCBEC.

Correct the BEC is programmed thru the servo connection. As a matter of fact castle is dumpming the usb port on the mamba max's also from what Joe told me. So all future programming on any CC products will be done thru the CC link and the servo lead.

Also it easy to remove the red wire and plug it back in, but if you dont want to do that, buy an 3" servo wire extention and cut the red wire and tape it off.. Just another way of doing it.

You will be able to run the CC BEC with out upping the voltage. The BEC is set to 5.0 or 5.1 volts from the factory, and set voltage is at 10amps. You will notice an immediate differance. Then later you can get a Castle link and set the voltage. I ran my CC BEC's on factory voltage for a few months before I got a castle link. So just worry about connecting it first.
