Lowering ax 10
 

I'm trying to lower my ax 10 rtr I've already searched it but came up with nothing. Any ideas.

Put fuel tubing inside the shock on the shock shaft that is an easy way. Also changing the position of your linkage will also bring your height down. My RTR sat at about 2.5" and it would climb anything.

My favorite way to lower an Ax10 is to take the stock shock shaft spacers (right above the spring cups -nearest to axle) and move them inside the shock, on the shaft underneath the piston. This should lower height by a half inch or so.

Invert your front shocks and move them back to the 3rd (last) mounting hole. You will have to seal your shocks threads or they will leak. I used white teflon tape (the kind used in plumbing) and they have not leaked once. Get softer springs in the front (red super soft axial). Add weight to your front tires.

I don't think the RTR's come with these. Mine didn't. And it's a RTR.

In that case you are absolutely right. Sorry for misinformation.

For the record the ARTRs have that spacer already installed inside and it's 1cm in length. I removed mine yesterday and added 1.5 cm of tygon fuel tubing in its place to get it down a little more. I haven't done much with it yet but it feels better already.

My RTR had the black spacers already installed INSIDE the shocks on the shock shaft. To bring down the ride height more, I added 1/4" nylon spacers to each shock as well.

To do this, you need to remove the shock from the chassis, take off the spring retainer and spring, and use pliers to hold the shaft in place while you unscrew the rod end. (Protect the shaft from the metal jaws of the pliers with a small piece of paper towel.)

With the rod end removed, remove the shock cap, being careful not to spill any fluid, or just empty the fluid out if you intend to replace it with new fluid.

Slowly push the shock shaft up through the shock until you can take hold of the piston and pull it out. Use your thumb to plug the hole on the bottom of the shock, where the shaft goes, to prevent the oil from leaking out (unless the shock is already empty).

With your free hand, place the spacer over the shock shaft. If possible, insert the spacer between the piston and the original rubber spacer that was already installed by Axial.

Slowly push the shock shaft back into the shock and through the hole your thumb is covering.

Refill the shock to the proper fluid level and reinstall the cap. Then, reinstall the rod end, reassemble the shock and put it back on your crawler!

put on emaxx shocks that will drop it down "thumbsup"

I'm running stock clodbuster springs and the rubber things on the inside of the shocks, Lowered about 7/8".
