Default Rc4x4crawler's Top Banana Comp Build

Well I figured I better do a new build thread from my old Banana setup for the new season. It is a TON better now.

Here's what i'm running:

ELECTRONICS-

Hitec 5955tg steering
Hitec225bb dig
Holmes Hobbies Handwound 45t
Tekin Fxr ESC
Airtronics FHSS 2.4ghz 3ch Radio
Electrifly 11.1v 1500mah lipo
Castle Creations BEC (6v)

DRIVELINE-

Axial Axles (shafty all the way!)
Axial Tranny
DNA dig
DNA motor plate
15/87 gearing
RCP stainless steel one-piece lockers
RCP Straight axles
RCP clockable c's
RCP high clearance knuckles
Axial CVD's ( I get around 43deg. of steering)

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION

Top Banana chassis
55mm delrin skid
Custom stainless steel upper and lower links in parallel(no more bends and breaks)
Duratrax ST/BX 3in. front buggy shocks up front
Losi 3.5 in. buggy shocks in rear

WHEELS & TIRES
Vanquish Products Revolver (fully loaded front,2 each rear)
Losi Rock Claws
Standard Losi foam rear, 2 stage up front.

BODY-

Axial XC-1

This is by far the best rig I have ever driven. It won me the season opener for the Socalrcrc series out of 63 drivers.

Thanks. It's doin great now since I have the new internals for it. It used to slip bad with a mini servo.

Well it was the internals that caused the mini servo to not be able to hold the dig in 4x4. It shifted between dig and 4x4 fine, it was just getting it to hold in 4x4 in a bind.

With the 1500 I get around an hour of run time depending on how I am driving that day. If I fell like crawling or bashing in other words.

Definetely looking forward to seeing your rig also. Come out to a FNF one of these fridays.

Sweet crawler! I love the body and chassis.
How do you like the HH 45t motor? Im pondering whether to get a 35t or something a tad higher.

Either one is good. I kinda wish I would have went with the 35t now so I could gear down more and still have a lot of wheelspeed but I'm pretty used to 15/87.

Looks great! How is the droop life treating ya? Why did you get rid of your old wheels? Are you running the same foam set up with these tires? Are my eyes playing tricks on me or are you running more weight in these wheels?

Got your PM. The droop is making this rig work the best it ever has. The reason I changed wheels is because I sold my old ones and I am waiting on my new Eritex berg Offset ones. I am running a thin strip of foam in these because I have so much lead in the wheel there is no room. I'm running 12 oz. of lead up front and 9 out back. They actually weigh more than the Vanquish fully loaded.

Default Update

Heres a few shots of this rig out at Glamis. This is the MOST stable rig I have ever driven. and with 42deg. of turning and dig, it seems unstoppable.

New parts are CC Sidewinder, 35t, and Eritex berg offset delrin beadlocks for the rear(not shown in these pics. These put my rear track width to 9.5in.)

Thanks. The dirt/rocks get super good traction. The tires grab every grain and pebble.

How did you get that neat weathered metal look on the wheels?
Almost looks like you put some sorta silver paint on them, then wiped some of it off?
