i notice the axial site saying the esc cvan handle up to 10 cell at 2.0 v? so with this in mind im guessin its ok to run a 3s li ion pack..... if im wrong about any of this PLZ let me know....lol. right now i have the stock 27t motor, but am getting a 55t real soon, and just wanna get some good torque and runtime iut of it

Well,I'm sure they are referring to a sub C cells when they say 10 cells. Sub C's or 2/3a cells are 1.2 volts per cell. That would mean that the ESC is good up to 12 volts. A 3 cell lipo, being 11.1 volts total, would be the most I'd try to run on it. Even though the voltage ratings are good, you may see a little more heat out of the ESC compared to running a smaller pack. If you watch the heat, you'd probably be safe. One thing I'd be Leary of though,is a voltage cut off. A very good thing to have while running lipos. One thing to consider, the BEC in an ESC provides power to your servos through the receiver. The more power you run for the main pack, the less power your BEC will push towards your servos. If you want to run higher voltage packs,no matter what type of cell,I'd suggest getting a Castle Creations BEC. Bypass the BEC in your ESC and select the voltage you want your servos to get. |
