double tap rev. to drive on RTC?

When going from rev. to drive you have to pull back on the triger once then let go and repull to mover forward. Its very agrivating... Is replacing the esc the only way to fix this?

got rid of mine by replacing esc with rooster clawler esc i hated it also....

I read somewhere either axials site, or the manual, this is how its supposed to work. Annoying to say the least, eventually I'll replace the esc. Until then I'll just deal with it.

Its like that so when your climbing you can quickly reverse to prevent a rollover.

Your motor is wired backward. Not the first RTC I've heard of doing this leading me to believe that they're coming like this from the factory.

All you have to do to fix this is unplug the motor wires (bullet connectors) and switch them. Then on your remote, reverse ch2 with the little switch by the steering knob.

It's supposed to be this:
(If looking at the remote straight on, with the steering knob face up)
Middle - neutral
Left from Middle- Forward
Right from Middle - Reverse

Left to Right - Brake
Left to Right then Middle then Right - Reverse

Basically the first time you flick the trigger into reverse and hold it that will be brake. Second time is reverse.

Getting a new ESC with instant reverse removes the brake feature.

It may be wired backwards, but whatever the case, the effect of double tapping to go forward is what axial intended.

Only issue, is mine seemed to have slightly more wheel speed in reverse then forward, so I swapped the wires on the motor and flipped the throttle switch to reverse, but now I flip over backwards, since I can't blip reverse real quick.

I do plan on emailing axial to see if that is normal that reverse has slightly more wheel speed then forward.

it's actually a delay to go from reverse to forward, you can go forward and hit reverse instantly, but to go forward again you have to double tap it.

Yeah your going to have to replace that speed controller. My buddys AX10 RTR had the same issue.

I think they do that to help newbies from mashing it forward and backward quickly, causing it to strip gears. Annoying to say the least. I replaced mine with the Rooster Crawler combo and I'm loving it.

Yeah....we discovered this the other day. Sort of weak sauce IMO. Only because all the advertisments of the RTC stated it was a no-delay reverse.

Technically it is...it's just now a delay forward.

We all thought it was a new ESC or new programming.

Instead it's just flipped polarity.

Oh well. It will get the job done, just have to get used to it I guess.

Mine was doing the same deal, so I flipped the wires on the motor and reversed the controller. That was last week, I just bought a Novak Rooster Crawler this weekend lol. Got tired of the Axial ESC foward/reverse, the glitches, and its inability to work the servo and turn the motor under pressure. The Rooster Crawler should be here around Thursday, can't wait!

did/does anybody elses have a faster reverse? At least from the factory?

Also is anyone elses reverse finicky? By that I mean it takes very little to go full throttle, going forward there is alot, but reverse if I just barely squeeze it goes all out.

I didn't notice it until I flipped the motor wires around, so now it does it going forward. Is this the esc or radio?

It's because technically the motor is wired backwards. If things we're wired properly your forward should go faster then reverse, and you should have a delay going into reverse, axial reversed it so when your climbing and you start to flip you can hit reverse.

Try flipping the wires around on the motor, if you like it like that leave it, if you don't flip it back, if you don't like it either save up for a new esc.

i happen to like how it comes stock better than flippin it. its much more annoying havin a delay in reverse it makes it harder to recover. even tho it is slower in foward. i cant wait to upgrade my esc though. im gunu go with cc sidewinder.
