Post Home Brewed Chassis

Well, it isn't the prettiest, but it was inexpensive, and so far it seems to work pretty good compared to the stock chassis.

A couple pieces of aluminum stock from Lowes, a $4 1/4" cutting board from kmart, sawzall, hand grinder and a hand drill and voooila.

Used the stock servo mounts for upper link mounts, stock bottom links, #8 threaded rod with traxxas ends for simple upper links for now. The chassis is narrowed to about 2.75" wide or so. The shock mounts are separate so I can make a second set to run different length shocks if needed. The shocks are just stock traxxas 4" for now running loose on 3mm screws.

Overall the truck crawls more lines than the way I had it set up before with the stock chassis, (but that may have been lack of effort into the previous setup), however I notice far less torque twist, and much more consistent handling with the new triangulation.

Gotta love the home brew!

FYI - Get yourself a coping saw and an assortment of blades, it'll make cutting both the plastic and the aluminum sooooo much easier and prettier. Should be able to make it out the door for less than $20.
