Internal Shock
 

Anybody try this shock? How's the performance?

An air shock:? I would say an oil shock would be much smoother...
Im skeptical on how theese would perform. Just my .02

Has anybody tried these yet? Do they even dampen like a oil shock. I think they would look cool on my berg but I need them to work as good if not better then my traxxas big bores..

I have two in the front of my AX10.
But it works hmmmmmmmmmmm................
Oil is much better and smoother, but it looks better.

I run these Air Shocks on my Comp Rig, and the work great for me. You will have to keep the shaft slick with some Green Slime. Reason being if you don't the shaft will lock up and start to damage the rubber ring inside the actual shock body. You can find the Green Slime lube at your local Hobby Shop. Hot Racing Air Shocks Are cool looking, and perform great."thumbsup"

They're not air shocks if they where then the wouldn't have a spring inside them. :roll: They are just simple frictions shocks like the ones that come with the Tamiya High Lift.

If they're anything like high lift shocks then they'll probably suck and would be much better in the bottom of a tool box after being replaced buy some decent oil shocks. :mrgreen:

I bought two sets of those shocks....the first being the wrong length. :roll: However, I pulled them off not long after. They come with three different spring stiffnesses (is that a word?). After trying them all and even two springs per shock, I never was really crazy about the performance. Maybe it is because I'm a noob, but I like the chassis to straighten back up when I finish a turn and the springs weren't strong enough for me.

I run aluminum HPI MT2 shocks now with 20wt oil and I like them much more.

I bought a set of these used. They work okay, they are very smooth as long as you keep shafts lubed. I put about 5 drops of 30wt shock oil in them and they are butter smooth. Now for the bad news... I think they are too soft for a shafty. The springs in mine are soft. I wish I had the other spring rates to try. I think they may work better on an MOA.

yeha ive heard they arent too good if you have a loy of sprung weright as opposed top unsprung weight like on a MOA design, just jgets weighed down too much, or you could put mini quake springs in em if they are any stiffer

They look cool,but it is hard to beat a good set of oil shocks like the Axial Comp shocks.
