| SWX - Backwards/Forwards?? Confused
Hey guys (and gals if there are any)... Just putting my SWX together... and I'm a bit confused... if I put it together the way it shows in the diagrams... the motor/transmission assemblies get reversed from the way the ARTR or RTC come. Am I correct or a bit cracked up? If this is correct, then obviously I'd switch the direction in the transmitter for forward/reverse. Can someone shed some light on this subject and as to why they did it... just so I can be at piece with it all!! Thx in advance! Happy Crawling! |

I'm not sure if it is planned that way, but I know some guys "mirror" the trans to get the motor on the right side of the chassis. Then you don't have to reverse the motors polarity.

Which is better.... reverse the wiring on the motor... or switch it in the TX?

If you search through the pics thread stickied at the top, all the SWX pics I have found have the trans rotated so the spur faces the front, motor to the rear and on the right side. Probably best to counter torque twist. As far as the motor, as long as the timing is zeroed, I'm assuming you would just switch the motor leads and be fine. I'm sure the guys that have done it would be better able to answer you, though. |

I just heard that it's a dig thing from someone... makes a bit more sense now. Switching the leads it is!

| It dosen't counter torque twist, but the weight of the motor on the right dose help with the torque twist.

I mirrored mine and rotated it so that the motor is to the passenger side front. Works great.

it has to be set up with the spur gear up front if you want to run a rear dig like most everyone does.
