| too low using T-Maxx shocks?
I've installed a set of T-Maxx shocks which has dropped my AX10 nicely, but I think it might actually be too much. I put white springs on them, so they are soft, but the stroke is a lot shorter and it is quite low.... Any opinions? No chance to do any real crawling until the weekend. Never seen t-max shocks with remote reservoirs??? How long are those shocks? What is your belly height? Why do ya think it is too low? |

I run a drooped rig with the stock axial side plates. So I have experimented a lot with ride/belly height. I would say any lower than 2 3/4 will hinder your break over. I tried my belly height at 2 1/2 for a while, and it really dragged on most break overs. |

They are aftermarket shocks for the T-Maxx, stock length. Got them from thetoyz.com. Since the T-Maxx was the first real 4x4 RC monster truck, there is a ton of aftermarket stuff out there. Reservoir shocks are VERY common- I have several sets, including a set made by Progressive Suspension (if you ride motorcycles, you will know this name well). The shocks are about 3/4" shorter than the stock Axial Scorpion shocks. And I don't know if it is too low or not, that is why I am asking more experienced minds. I don't really think the height is an issue- I'm going to be putting on Rovers soon so it will give more clearance....I'm more concerned of how the suspension works when depressed this much. |

Great, thanks folks. It just eats up a bunch of time swapping the shocks out and I don't wantto waste crawling time on this if it isn't feasable. |

I am constantly tuning mine but I usually stay within the 2.5 to 3 inch range. It doesn't look that bad to me.

I'm just under the 3" mark. I'll be crawling this weekend- I'll find out then. Thanks for the info everyone.... Guess I still look at my crawler with the eye of a monster truck runner- been running T-Maxx's and Savages fro a lot longer than I've been crawling. |
