Default A newbs first tuber build

Hello to eveyone and just wanted to say I love this forum. I would not have nearly as well performing crawler without it. I have had a few radio shack things in the past but this is my first "real" rc. With that out of the way here is what used to be my rtr a few weeks ago. I am new to the hobby but tend to jump into things head first and to heck with the consequences. Parts list so far below.
novak 45 turn and rooster esc combo,
spektrum dx3e radio reciever and servo,
robinson racing output gear,(stock outputs lasted about 15 to 20 runs)
integy piggybacks,(don't like em and will be replacing)
pro line flat irons(not the greatest but way better than stock rock lizards)
misc home made parts include the rear four link plate, front battery tray, some links, and the tube frame.
I also cut apart my packs and made them into saddle packs sitting on plates on the sides of the servo but don't have a new pic yet.

I need to change the skid to delrin and get delrin lower links once I decide on the proper length. Still to come is a bta setup, a good dig, and some sedonas for starters. I must admit I am addicted to crawling. I just need to be at my favorite crawling spot(Daniels Park) at the right time now to find the person that chalks out courses ahead of me now lol.

Very nice fab work on that tuber! Looks like you got all the right parts in line for upgrades. Those 2.2 Flat Irons and those Integy piggybacks will be awesome on a scaler I bet! Welcome to the addiction lol!

Thanks for the compliments. Colorado does have some sweet crawling spots. I will try and remember the camera next time and add a few more from different angles. It does seem that eveyplace is dusty though so it's hard to keep the tires clean enough for max traction. The flat irons really grab when it has just rained but in a desert state thats not very often.

I'll let you know. It has been getting steadily better though and dominates things that would have only flipped it on it's back when it was a rtr so far.

Thanks for saying so. I don't really know yet I just found this great forum with a ton of good advice. It still needs a fair amount of work before I will be satisfied, but as I plan on eventually finding some competitions in the denver area I want it ready for when I find such events. It's getting there though.

Heres a few more pics with the saddle pack when I first made it.

I found turning the batteries a little gave me better clearance at full turn.

Here's the only action shot I could find will take more tomorrow.
