Default Project: To broke to buy a buggy

My kiddo is rough on his crawler. He's 8 years old, fearless and knows that i'll fix it if he breaks it. hahaha It's pretty built up with the right parts, full metal trans gears, upgraded output shafts, metal yokes, upgraded lockers, Rovers, memory foams.....blah blah blah.

Historically he goes thru a body every couple of months from use. And really since day one he has been buggin me to build him a buggy chassis for his rig. I finally had enough of trashing body's and/or telling him to put his body back on his crawler so I started this project. It's roughed in right now.

Things left to do:
- Mount Upper shock tabs *** DONE!
- Shorten upper links in the front *** DONE!
- Move one of the upper cross supports, I must have been out of it when I welded it in place and didn't notice till it was on the truck
- Mount the electronics *** DONE!
- Smooth and Paint the chassis
- Some Lexan body panels. *** DONE! (mostly)

Overall I'm pretty happy with it, It's a little heavier than I would have liked it to be, but still lighter than his stock chassis with upgraded side plates, body, pins and what not. I'll get a weight on it when I'm finished. Comparing it to my lightweight SSS chassis isn't really a fair game. hahaha

Here it is with shock mounts completed, some body panels and after a few test runs. I was still messing with the links at this point. I have since gone full 4 link front and rear with it.

And it's latest form. Been modifying, tweaking, and changing. So far it's working good. It's held up really well and overall I like how it turned out.

Still left to do:

- Smooth and paint
- Switch to lipo
- Get some harder foams for the tires

This weekend I'll be tearing it down and finishing/painting the chassis.

Good work. I would like to have it. If he's not happy with it I'll pay shipping to my house.
