Default TC's GC-3A Build

When I saw this kit come out, I knew I had to have one. There are only a few kits on the market that are as complete and are as high quality as the latest GC line.

Still waiting on the most important parts, the transmission and axles but here's the current spread:

Axial Axles and Transmission
GC-3A Chassis
Big Bores w/ mini T springs up front, Losi w/ gold springs rear
White dot Rovers
Double Deuce Novas
300s
Hertz Dig
MIP Drive Shafts
Novak 21.5T Brushless w/ 3s Goat system
Hitec HS-7950TH
Spektrum DX3E

Chassis going together

Instructions are great! They make life very easy.

The runt came first. That kit is ultimately what inspired this rig.

Got the Axles in and assembled. I'm sure you all know this but man, really disappointed in the stock locker and gears. I'm sure they will work temporarily but I just ordered some HD gears (Over and under drive, Thanks Helhedded) and one piece lockers as replacements. Are any of your have issues with the plastic locker cover? Just seems like it might be a weak point.

It may be too early to tell but I really feels like the rear of this set up is a bit too stiff with the white springs. As it goes together, I'll give updates.

Anyway Back to the chassis, its a roller:

Front link placement on axle has been corrected from this pic.

Decided to keep the rovers on for now but I've got the Sedona's and Nova's ready to roll also.

I would say that it's too early to tell with the springs. All of that will relate to the trucks overall weight in the end.

The stock lockers are junk but I have never had an issue with the locker housing. That part usually gets tossed anyway whenever you make the upgrade to a 1 piece design.

I like this thread.... It's almost like starting allover again for me.

Dear mail,

Please bring my transmission faster so that I might FINISH MY BUILD!

Installed the Nova foams and all I can say is WOW , these things are awesome. Anyone who (like me) has thought, how much difference can some foams make, you gotta try them and see! This thing's gonna sidewall like a pro!

Finally got everything in and together. Couple of first impressions before I put her on the rocks. The recommended shocks aren't that great. While waiting for everything to come in, they seem to have leaked out. Any suggestions on a nice set of 3.5" shocks?

Again nothing new here but my MIP's up front are a bit too long. Plan is to take about .5'' out or so to allow the rig to fully flex.

Steering is going to take some work. I'd like to get everything out of the way and I've got some ideas.

Got the over/under HD bevels installed, thanks again Ashton. I need to drill out the front for the 300s

Ordered a 3C and 3C lipo cut off for the rooster. . . we'll see how this ends

Pics coming tomorrow.

The shock cartriges need to be very tight. If they are not tight enough they will leak.
Put a screw driver through the top and use a wrench or pliers to tighten.

Update. Work has been crazy and I haven't had much time to play. Sorry no pics but I installed the 300's and Losi shocks. Still need to figure out the all of the electronic's mountings and body mountings. With the losi shocks I'm sitting a bit higher (2.5'') and feeling a bit stiffer. I'm going to get to take this rig on its maiden voyage next Saturday assuming its finished. Hopefully I'll get some pics then to post.

just so pics for now.

My 45t was just not doing it for me . . . Drag break hasn't been an issue yet. I really need some non-poser shots.

Gotta Love those rear links!

The new body turned out nice!

Don't know how much yours weighs but I had to put the gold losi springs on all 4 corners of mine and mine weighs 5lbs 7oz with a 3s 1300 wo/dig. Those springs made a world of difference in the mine acts

RTR w/ a dig and 3c I'm sitting at 5lbs 2 ounces. I added gold springs to the front and a losi whites to the back. Still a bit too stiff than I'd like. I'll prolly move to golds in the rear to! thanks for the tip!
