Re: Hittman's 2013/2014 Boxer Build

So far the boxer is awesome. The geometry is set up very well. The rig walks lines the El Niņo used to struggle with. The knuckle weight seems perfect, and the lockout weight is nice to have.

The quality of the carbon is top notch, and the machining is top notch. Everything fits together perfect and clears nicely.

In the first comp the rig did good. On the second course my brass inserts pulled out of the rear axle.. Allowing the uppers to flop and the rear driveshaft to come out. I was able to make it through gate 8, but that still destroyed my day. I was still able to pull off a second place finish, which I am happy about.

Our next comp is on the 8th of next month.. I am hoping to have new wheels, tires, front uppers, and a new body by then. I have a body on the way right now.. And I think the paint job I have in mind will look really good:twisted:

Thank you..

And I know:oops: it was the night before the comp.. Needed links.. So that's what's there. I have just been too busy to make the carbon links to replace them.

I have the axle mount things to an do the move the shocks up that much.

My setup is close to 60/40.. the shocks are super soft however, so at the angle they are at it sits nice.

Your track width numbers are blowing my mind.

Your rig is so much wider than the conventional "standard".

Any thoughts on your motivations, and results vs under 11".

I loved the stability I had with 11"+ width, but felt I got hung up on the axle so often, it was not worth it.

I've since narrowed it to 10-3/4"' roughly, and feel it crawls much better.

I've got an open mind, however, and would like to hear your opinion.

Truthfully, I just space it out till it stops rubbing and learn to drive it. I have been driving within the 10.75"-11.25" range for quite a while now. It has great stability on everything. My pro rig is close to the same, so it helps when switching back and forth between the two.

Personally I like it, and my trigger finger is accustomed to getting the diff past stuff.
