Re: Axial AX-10 a.k.a Carnage

So, as I was telling in my old shafty topic a large amount of stuff from my old build (Mår Bazhaag) will continue to my sister's rig. She has been driving her rig since 2013 with good old Bender Customs SWX chassis. Now thought, it's finally time to move on. "thumbsup"

Before moving on:

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Rewyx4WoIqg?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Couple of films from last year. This is Sofi's final course performance from Spanish Nationals 2014 where she ended up on 9th position! "thumbsup"

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/glTapSFUJ6Q?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And this perfomance is from our team Olympics 2014. Really nice run on repeat bonus course!

But now...

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1122.JPG
Here is where the work will be started.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1123.JPG
Good old bug body will be on top! :ror:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1125.JPG
Still plenty of grip in these.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1126.JPG
First update! What's missing?

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1127.JPG
Good deal with Holmes Hobbies will bring some great stuff for Sofi to start with! "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1129.JPG
Three HH 400 33t Pullers. One for shafty and two for the pro.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1131.JPG
We had to test it out of course!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1132.JPG
Motor quickly assembled. One battery on the garage floor and the difference to the old motor is HUGE!:shock:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1133.JPG
We had to gather proper Gunnar Body mounts and assemble the body, cause this thing is now flying! 8) Stunning performance from so little motor.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1135.JPG
Everything holded up on our little testing session.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1136.JPG
Probably will have to do some cutting on the body.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1137.JPG
And Sofi still has to do all the basic maintenance before the first comp.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1104.JPG
We also have to put on a new front axle from Super Shafty. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1105.JPG
Needed little more weight and strenght to the front.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1107.JPG
Brassy.... :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/P1012684.JPG
This is a really good point to start the building and preparing Sofi's rigs for our upcoming season which is starting after one month! "thumbsup"

We only use the ultra narrows on the rear axles of our rigs. IMHO gives better grip and makes the rear end more narrow. "thumbsup" I've fell in love with this set I use. (narrows in front and ultra narrows in rear)

Re: Axial AX-10 a.k.a Carnage

Awesome little motors! They are monster's!
I'm running a 30t myself (right now).. Also have a 33t arm and before I knew it, I was missing the speed of my 13t 500's..
I'm waiting on a custom would 27t skewed 400 puller to show up in the mail right now.. 8o waahahahaha....

Something to maybe look at for future use. I flipped my motor plate to the back and ran my 400 to the front of the El Nino.
Maybe if it clears ur chassis, it would be a way to get motor forward bias..

That "someday" may be sooner then later.. Tho my "old school" BC's still do just fine, Cory!

I was asking in my OG post for a reason.. Cause I like the skinny of the do-overs and Now is the Time, to get ready for spring!

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...a9dd5e654d.jpg

I better get a fresh bottle of glue.. ;)

Re: Axial AX-10 a.k.a Carnage

Time to rebuild this beast once in a year. :lmao:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1268.JPG
The starting point.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1269.JPG
Will use the new skid by DravTech.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1271.JPG
Yeah, it really needs new one.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1272.JPG
Old skid.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1273.JPG
New 3D printed. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1274.JPG
New Super Shafty front axle with NCD tie rod.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1275.JPG
I will continue using the old NCD upper link mount/servo stand.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1276.JPG
Sofi rebuild the rear axle.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1277.JPG
And the transmission. Some VP grease to make it work like a new one. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1280.JPG
I began my work to think about new rear upper link setup.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1281.JPG
And also got chance to move the transmission 180 degrees to the other way.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1282.JPG
Seems a lot better. 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1283.JPG
That poor front axle is going to have hard times in the hands of Sofi.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1284.JPG
Good steering reamains, from the similiar previous setup.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...4/IMG_1285.JPG
That's it for this year. Getting back to the garage in 2015. :flipoff:

Some building at the garage!
http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...95529686_n.jpg

Some changes with my shafty. I was able to build it a bit myself today. Have to say that it was fun. But all those screws... I almost lost my patience with them. After all I came up with a pretty good result. Have to be proud of myself! And of course it is good to know what my rig is made of :D Carnage is looking good and I can't wait to get it tested. I just wish that snow would melt asap. It's covering all the rocks! Luckily we've got enough competitions round the year and despite the snow

Softy,
The next time your brother makes a video if you could scream "NICE" in the back ground at every progress that would be hilarious. Hope you have a blast crawling. Keep a close eye on your brother he is one hell of a driver!

Re: Axial AX-10 a.k.a Carnage

Some of the last updates before the comp #1.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1286.JPG
Rear link setup and green springs on both sides. What would be the best way to disable torque twist in this kind of setup?

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1287.JPG
Relocated the gunnar body mount on the rear. 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1288.JPG
Motor on the place now.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1291.JPG
Sanwa receiver now in the shrink.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1292.JPG
Ready for test drive number two. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1293.JPG
Everything seems to be working. Lets see the weight.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1295.JPG
Still not too much, if you consider all the weight in front axle. ;-)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_1297.JPG
And here's a poor picture of the electronics. BR-Mini, CC BEC and Sanwa receiver all in shrinks.

Still little things to do before the comp, but now it's up and running, which is the most important thing. "thumbsup"

...unlike my shafty... :lmao:

First comp of the year behind! 8)

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_0275.JPG
The Arctic Special started with -3 Celcius degrees and slight snowfall.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010002.JPG
Sofi anxious to get driving!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010035.JPG
The Arctic special setup contains no shock oil and no over-or underdrive gears in axles. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010053.JPG
Course three on the way.

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010076.JPG
The grip seems to be suprisingly good!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010082.JPG
And Carnage is working like a dream!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010099.JPG
Two more gates and course is finished with only one reverse.

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/HmCr_FDJ1p4?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Course four in video. This course was the decider for the success. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/TULOKSET/Crawling...n%20Keidas.jpg
First ever victory to Sofi in crawling!:mrgreen:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010180.JPG
Rig was working excellent and the driving was phenominal!

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010181.JPG
You might think "Only two drivers, how hard can it be?!" Well to be fair Saku got himself position 12. in last years Worlds, so the rival is a tough one for sure! And tough was the competition also! :flipoff:

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/P1010185.JPG
It's very good to continue from this in the next comp. It'll take place indoors after six weeks. "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...5/IMG_0316.JPG
Finnish afternoon got dark before we left. Fantastic first annual Arctic Special! "thumbsup"

http://paron.pp.fi/ZT%20Mekkausmekka...Ottsixsofi.jpg
The victory is noted elsewhere too. You can see the pins working on ice and snow as well! :flipoff:
