You french guys are mad! :flipoff::flipoff: That's cool design. Keep it up. "thumbsup"

Madness is a mild remedy to reality "thumbsup"

Yes! I keep it up .
This chassis is really not like other with his fixed axle.
I ran the last year with my 2.2 pro, (the TGS shafty matrix) : I found how to drive it.
and each defect has been corrected at the best (last evolutions are not yet on RCC) or almost :lmao:
So I love it ;-)
The finish line is not very far away, I'll hurry to finish it for testing

How is the drive transmitted to the rear axle?

Re: TGS shafty

it's time to get answer "thumbsup"

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/529886IMG3621.jpg

I use delrin support
I need to lightweight, but it's a good solution.

I received my XR10 universal shaft, which I have just a little grinded
alu 4mm steering arms are drawn and milled

Hi :)

It's finished "thumbsup"

Rear axle is operationnal

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/269302IMG4280.jpg

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/278297IMG4281.jpg

Bruhsless is not enough strong. So I change it by a 540 brushed integy 45T with a sidewinder 3 (I'll change it to a micro), 13T pinion and 87T spur gear

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/732157IMG4556.jpg

Bec is under servo

I rebuild gearbox and motor support in 4mm aluminium

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/285919IMG4329.jpg

A 2mm 3k carbon part maintains bearing ball

Lipo support found his place

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/889438IMG4557.jpg

and the bottom

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/848834IMG4558.jpg

I changed rear transmission shaft by a carbon steel, stronger, lighter and new
the body support (it's used too to rigidify chassis)
and I use shocks in droop mod, with spring on the right side to counteract torque twist effects

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/243617IMG4555.jpg

And I have the honor to present "Creepy Toad"

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/982887IMG4551.jpg

Dimensions:
front width 315mm (12.4")
rear width 300mm (11.8")

total weight: 1841 g with lipo
repartition weight 62/38
http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/495454IMG4550.jpg

http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/748017IMG4549.jpg

and the first test, with rear width 10mm less, but it's better now :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyNJeyWnymA

I tuned the sidewinder with a long curved throttle to get some smooth in low speed and total speed at full throttle.
The size tires difference gives an overdrive

I'm looking forward to my first go area:twisted:

Re: TGS shafty

Looking good. One question.. Will this be called a moa chassis. As the tranny is fixed to the axles.. As I heard the tranny needs to be mounted on the chassis next year and not on the axle.. I was looking for this option also..
But is this legal or not next year...?

tgenial58 06-05-2015 01:09 PM

Re: TGS shafty

I heard the same.
So if we look more ready, nothing says you must have solid or articulated links.
Here, we have solid links.
And when you watch the tranny, it's inside the chassis, fixed on it.
And a shaft links axle to the gearbox.
Is it forbidden to fix axle links on gearbox?
So, it could, perhaps, stay in rules limits.

And to be quiet, I'm building a chassis with a gearbox inside with front and rear link
I build it with RC4WD pinions

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/692927IMG4284.jpg
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/903747IMG4287.jpg

a front axle based on same idea and the chassis are drawn "thumbsup"
I don't want to be refused on technical control :flipoff:

Hi!
It's done
I 'm gone to test the creepy Toad on the rocks.
It's a good machine, i believe
And now, let's watch the movie "thumbsup" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEFzBg4sBhA

Re: TGS shafty

Hi !
So the last run tells me "Yours Voodoos are dead"
Since the beginning, I have some rock claws, wich I feel good but too small.
So, what happened?
I combine both to make voodoo claws "thumbsup"

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/975716IMG4769.jpg

I need 1.5 rock claws to build 1 voodoo claws "thumbsup"

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/786850IMG4772.jpg

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/861645IMG4771.jpg

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/794441IMG4793.jpg

I need to add medium foam strip to complete the new volume

And now, overdrive is really sensitive

Now, just 10 minutes with Dremel :ror:

Re: TGS shafty

I cut old tread to keep flexibility and I prefer to do that than glue new tread on old tread.

Re: TGS shafty

Hi!
So, after a quick read of rules and a measure, I find a mistake:oops:
160mm instead of 152.5mm of diameter :lmao:
I had to re - cut tires and now, I have the 152.5mm "thumbsup" and a better finishing.

At left, the new tire, and at right the old

Re: TGS shafty

Looks great! I watched the vid, I thought for sure you where going to hit that 6th gate but you wiggled up there. Great driving when hung up.
Looks like you'll have to run this in the unlimited class tho. But maybe you French guys won't adopt the changes made to the sports man class for 2016. Seems to me like there are a few of you guys into these different shaft driven rigs and I think that's pretty cool.
Keep it it up! "thumbsup"

Re: TGS shafty

Hi!

I replaced the rear cross aluminum by a Delrin, with a thread for attaching the bodywork.
The aluminium was too thin when I roll over and I was afraid for the chassis. Now, I am reassured and weight, 3g, is cool.

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/421116IMG6291.jpg

To attach the front, small plier delrin which is clipped to a cross member of the box

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/686288IMG6293.jpg

And I replace the aluminium cross member by delrin for better glide
