Default Axial Owners "This is a must do upgrade!"

Bender Rocks!

If you’re considering this Chassis READ THIS.

So I received my Bender Customs SW3 chassis last night. I put it together and my buddy who had the exact same set up as my Axial came over to play in my rock garden. I was skeptically dropping $65 for a chassis that I thought looked cool, but may not perform that much better over stock. My buddy thought I was stupid and wasting my money. After driving for 2 hours I know 1 thing! “This Chassis doesn’t just make a little difference it makes a night and day difference.” Cato on these forums said he was “impressed” I agree completely, but also think “impressed is an understatement. I could not believe the lines I could drive over that my axial struggled on several times. I set it up with 2” of ground clearance because that is what our axials had with the big bores and I wanted last night to be a good comparison between what I had vs. the Bender SW3. Needless to say I schooled my buddies Axial. He couldn’t believe it and honestly neither could I. My friend who at one time was mading fun of me for wasting my money on a new chassis was now asking to drive my rig half the night. Keep in mind this is the same setup as my axial other than shorter lower links. Although the skid plate is longer than stock I now understand that the skid being thinner makes more of a difference than being shorter, Don’t let the longer skid turn you away from the SW3. I know Bender knows what he is doing and this is why he set it up this way. My first comp I took 34th out of 55 I have my second comp next Saturday so I will give you more updates as to who much better I did.

Check this out if you havent!
SW3 Build with AX10 axles and tranny........
This is a SW3 Axial Buid. It was cake to do and I spent about $20 extra to do it (over the Chassis price of $65) that was mostly for stainless steel hardware I wanted to upgrade to.

I will promote this chassis until I die, or at least until a SW4 comes out!

Sorry this is so long!

There's a reason all the top guys in CO run the sw3. In my opinion it hands down the best chassis out there. I love mine!!

It's not that chassis that wins comps alone. It has alot to do with practice, tires, weights, suspension, and driving ability.

That said I agree the Bender SW3 is a solid option for a comp chassis. There are others as well.

Post up your new comp results, it should help, link geometry alone is amazingly improved from what I've read.

My axail SW3 chassis was finished early this week. I must say I'm very impressed so far. From what I can tell so far the link geometry is the biggest plus to the way the chassis handles. Running the same chassis clearance and tire setup that was on my stock chassis. Good job Bender!

I also run an SW3 in one of my ax10 based rigs... and I was a skeptic at first but it turned out to be a good choice over stock... its also a very clean retro-fit for the ax10 parts...

Bender,

Any suggestions as how to get my gc over 2.5" as you can see from my pictrures (http://eight01rcc.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=213) i mounted my XXL Big bores 4.2" shocks out to the farthest shock mounting point. I can't get the wheelbase above 2.5 and wanted to run around 2.75" Could it be my bent links? I made them myself and they are the first ones i have ever done. I made them 4" eye to eye so are they too long and the geometry is messed.

any other suggestions to make this more comp ready for saturday by anybody is appreicated.

Is your wheelbase long right now? Did you limit the travel of the shocks at all? You should be able to get about 3" of belly clearance with a 4" shock mounted in the outer holes. The lower shock mounts sit lower on AX10 axles then TLT axles, so they may be part of it too.

no i am legal exactly 12.5" wb. maybe it is because the shocks sit lower. 2.5 is the highest I was able to get with the 4" big bores. Maybe if i cut the lower links .25" i will get a bit more out of it.

I'm totally on board with this sw3 thing. Just got mine together, seems to work well with my WK axles, also the ax-10 trans fits beautifully in that chassis. Nice work bender.

So my buddy who was making fun of me for wasting money on a chassis is now buying a tuber. It will be interesting to se how my $65 SW3 chassis compares to his new $250 dollar purchase. I see that in lot of the colorado series you tube video the benders are ranking within the top 5 pretty consistently so i am stoked.
