Default Pinky the Gopher

Well, I took my 11yr old daughter to a comp with me and she thought it was cool. I let her drive my Gopher around the rocks and have heard nothing but "When can i have one" since then.

So, since i had another Gopher chassis from TCS sitting around, i figured why not..

Build specs:
TCS Gopher
AX10 Axles
RC4WD Straight Axles & Adaptors
RC4WD Knuckles & Axle "C"s
TCS AX10 4Link/Servo Plate
TCS AX10 Rear 4Link Adaptor
AX10 Transmission
Pede Shafts with Metal Yokes
Integy 55 lathe
Mamba 25 (crossing fingers)
CC10 BEC
Hitec 5645 Steering Servo
Custom Delrin Links with Revo Ends
Axial Rockstar Beadlocks
ProLine Moabs M2 with Star cut Losi Foams

I decided to go a different route with this one and shamelessly steal Harley0706's skid plate mod with a few changes.

I cut the chassis just below the lower mount holes and put some bends in the chassis sides to bring in the width.
Stripped the red and went for a clean white paint (minus where i was
fitting the Revo ends to make sure i had enough rotation in the now
angled side plates.)

Next up was the skid made from a piece of 3/8" Delrin, drilled and tapped for the link attachment.

More to come later..

These little frames can be pretty versatile. I am interested to see how the center section comes out, I like the narrowed idea.

Funny Harley... Check's in the mail, besides you already got your gift buddy..

Got the skid mounted and fab'ed up some links from 5/16" Delrin.
Fronts are 3-3/4"
Rears are 4-3/4", from eye to eye.
Uppers are a tad bit shorter with this setup..
Should come out to a 12.3 -12.4 WB

Even though my little girl is a light weight, I'm guessing she will be hard on the trigger and not know when to stop if in a bind, which = hard on the lockers, so these should do the trick.
STEEL!!!!!

Not as much of a weight increase as i thought but every little bit will help.
Stock = .161 oz.

Mine = .481 oz.

Almost finished axels, still need the correct servo mount so it sits lower and more forward like it's supposed to.

and finally the reason she's called Pinky, shouldn't be able to lose sight of it with this color on the panels.

Need to finish up the big bores so we got a roller, back to the grind....

John

it looks like your locker might have a snugger fit than the stocker. I would imagine it would take some play out of it. the stock fit is like throwing a pickle down a hallway...

Lookin' good man! Still trying to get my daughter into it.
She's got a 1/6th nylint jeep, black and pink. She likes the scale thing,
not to into the comps yet.

I like your narrow mod. Probably make a huge difference.
Does she have a theme yet, like Bratz or Barbie?

Not really into the doll thing.
She really loves horses and just about any other animal, as of right now, she wants to be a Vet. but of course that will probably change by time i'm done with this build.

I'm thinking some etched Delrin rings (Horses of course) and possibly a few other items.

My 14 month old girl loves to play with my crawler rigs. I can see a little crawling pal in my future. It will be nice to build here a rig of her own right now she just sits in my lap and works the steering. But when I drive it in the living room she fallows it every where. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hey Brian,
Well she's a roller now, had a package of pede shafts get lost in the mail so she got put on hold for awhile.. Had to make a longer shaft for the rear since the Axial tranny is so compact. Did find this sweet how to from Double J while waiting..
How to Pede sliders..Drive Shafts

I'll get to some pics this weekend, got to repaint some new bodies in green, black and silver first..

We got a cat when my little sister was 8, she decided she wanted to be a vet. She got her DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree ahead of schedule, and last I heard after 10 years in the profession only has 15 years more of student loans to pay off.

Teach the girl to crawl and use CAD programs, it'll save money in the long run when she becomes an engineer

I love those frames, and I REALLY like those steel lockers. My junk stockers are almost shot, I just ordered the HD ones that CKRC came out with, so hopefully those will hold up a little better for me...
