axial high clearance lower links issue.

hello. i bought a set of the bent lower links for my ax10 but seem to be having an issue. the only way i can mount them is backwards. the issue i'm having is when i try to mount them the way they are supposed to go i have interference issues with the shocks. am i supposed to use different captured ball ends on either the links or the shocks? the axle side of the links are binding up with the bottom of the shocks. thank you for any help with this issue.

did you space them like the comp build thread said to ?

negative... i am currently running a stock setup with the links still mounted on the outside of the chassis plates.

When you assembled your kit it included tons of extra end links replace the ones that have a bend up with the ones that are straight. it will clear all your shocks and assembly well. that is what i did to mine works well hope that helps

I had the same issue. I went to the comp mod and I'm glad I did."thumbsup"

Triangulate the lowers,it'll help with axle steer as well as elevate some of the shock/link issue. If theres any more binding with the shock/link....space them apart a bit more at the axle.

thanks for all the suggestions guys... much appreciation...

do your lower links ever come into contact with the upper links or spacers or any part of them since you moved the lowers inboard I really would like to move mine inboard but with the bent lower 30degree links it looks like under full articulation I would hit my lower links with the upper links or really it looks like were they mount up with the spacers pretty badly? Does yours come into contact like that again like I said only when its under full articulation does it look like I'm gonna hit?

No problem. Move 'em in

It'll perform better anyway if you limit the shocks. An AX-10 has to much travel to begin with. If you limit the suspention,it should be good to go. A little rubbin never hurt anyone. Run it!

Would someone please direct me to the "Comp Mod" ? I am having challenges searching this forum with the terms "Comp Mod" & finding the thread.

Are the upper mounting points of the Lower links also moved inboard?

Thank you for your considerations,

Flynfrog

You can try setup shock without spring. I use internal spring above piston
will proper amount of oil. I know this will create some tension to shock cap and may lead to pop out. (better use alu shock like Traxxas big bore )
But so far I had no problem with stock shock. So, here is just another solution you may try.

The Crawler Store has front and back. They both work very well.
