Hello, I'm new here and new to RC crawling, but I've been into RC nitro monster trucks for years. I picked this crawler up from craigslist really cheap. After doing some research, it looks like an old Ridgecrest, with different electronics tray and battery tray. Maybe it's an older generation. It has some mods: High clearance links that have been extended (13.5 inch wheelbase), rear steer, and upper shock mounts. Over all the truck is in great running condition.

If you look at the link in the pic, one of the links is 'rigged' up. I ordered the same link but realized it only comes as the aluminum link. No extender or bent attachment that connects the link to the truck. Is it possible just to buy the extender and the bent attachers(not sure the name of that black piece) separate. I googled around and only saw the complete wheelbase extender kit. It has the 2 pieces I need but a bunch of stuff I don't for about $70. Was hoping I could find the pieces separate.

I've had this truck about 5 days and it's been pretty fun learning. Here's a couple vids of it.

This is the link I ordered. Now I'm looking for the extender and bent black, connectors that thread into it.

The black plastic pieces are called rod ends. Traxxas Revo rod ends seem to be the most popular replacement/upgrade. I'm not sure where to find the extensions though.

You are looking for Axial Posts, they come in different sizes. https://www.tcscrawlers.com/SearchRe...l+post&Submit=

You will also need the AX80057 rod ends, and AXA186 m3x16mm set screws

Hey thanks man! I figured every thing out except for the posts. That helps a lot.

Got a new body today. I believe it's from an older scx dingo. It wasn't a perfect fit like I thought, not sure If I'm going to drill holes in it or sell it. I love the way the body looks though

And here's a little log crawl, with the old body

What bodies fit well with the ridgecrest? It's extended wheelbase now but I'm going to put it back to stock wheelbase, which I believe is 12.1 or 12.4 inch

one more with the new body. I also has new wheels with baja tires.

I just got this 12.32" body for $14 shipped: https://m.banggood.com/PVC-Climbing-...p-1178459.html
It arrived a little beat up so they refunded a portion.

$14 is so cheap. most places charge near that just to ship a body. The reviews I read, it seems the bodies are packed poorly and damaged during shipping. I been wanting to do a jeepish style body with racks, and accessories as a fun project. 14 dollars might be worth the gamble. I'm still undecided if I'm keeping the silver Dingo body. I shortened up the wheelbase of my truck to stock and the body looks better but not perfect. I would have to cut some of the wheel wells in order for it to crawl properly and put more holes into it to mount. Part of me wants to sell it but I might keep it the way it is for a "show' body that never gets used, haha

Stock wheelbase for the Ridgecrest is 12.1", and although photobucket screwed up a lot of the posts in the Picture Archive at the top of the page, there are some photos showing which bodies fit well on the stock wheelbase of the Ridgecrest.

#9, ProLine Bug
#37, ProLine Jeep
#62, HPI Jeep & Parma 1/8 Gravedigger, (the Dodge body isn't a stock wheelbase, the rear links are longer)

I got the Dingo body mounted up and it actually fit better than I thought. Thanks for the info! The Jeep body and rack. also arrived today so I'll be working on that over the next couple weeks
