You have been busy!!
I like the rear driveshaft!
Why did you go that route and not SDI?
What gear are you using for the OD/UD?

My experience is that SDI shafts tend to bind under load,-hurting the suspension movement. And I like to run very soft suspension,-I have even installed a rear sway bar, just like my other rig ;-)

Gears are HR 27/8 and 30/8 ,-would have liked more difference,-maybe experiment with different height tires front to rear..... ??

This was the first body for the rig:

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f3dadf9723.jpg

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5db225d717.jpg

But I was not that happy with recovery and the body is a bit fragile.

So I will be running this Xciter body:

Here you can see the sway bar aswell.

Brass weights are these,-I just cut off the largest outside part of them,-that diameter fits perfect inside the DE Racing wheels :

Good find on the brass weights!

Are those bent rod ends on the skid plate for 4mm rods?
If so, do you have a link for them?
Too bad the rod ends slots are not bent already... Making links is muck easier if the rodends are straight.

The rod ends are from the XR10 parts #80057,-and drilled to take 4mm rod ;-)

Axial #31186 M4 rod end set have bent rod ends aswell,-they are beefier "thumbsup"

Always good to know!!
How does it work on the rocks?
Happy with it?
How about your other shafty rigs?
Did you sell them?

Need some tuning to make it as great as my previous rig.
Takes time to get used to less overdrive,-and maybe I need some more weight up front....but overall I'am very pleased with the performance "thumbsup"

I did run the old rig at Nordics,-because I know it better than this new one.
But Asle (Brumle) drove this rig at Nordics,-and he did well considering he had not driven it before and was a bit afraid of wrecking it :ror:

I have only sold one rig,-my Sucker Punch shafty loaner ;-)
Still have some Losi's and the SuDuOne.

Finally some updates "thumbsup"

In order to mount the Stealth X trans,-I needed a new skid, and with the links already made for SuDuOne trans,-the choice was given ;-)

Blank SuDuOne FL skid drilled and "milled" for Stealth bolt pattern.

Even though it was a bit cold and not much grip, I did some testing today. So much better with the extra over drive from the Stealth X [emoji106][emoji41].

Interesting move on the transmission. Are the axles over driven at all, or are you relying on the transmission only?

Front axle is over driven,-but I find the 27/8 to 30/8 ratio difference to be too small. Much better now with the added 11,83 % overdrive in the transmission ;-)

Agreed.
27/8 = 3.375
30/8 = 3.75
I have one of these transmissions on order to give it try. I have found that I prefer to keep the axles geared as low as possible and do the over driving in the transfer case or transmission. We have a few trucks set up with the Dlux fab cheezeburger or the RC4WD over/under transfer case that allow for this.

I recycled some brackets originally made for the Sucker Punch chassis[emoji6]. And the swaybar links are mounted to the axle with help from some HR Losi night crawler lower link mounts[emoji3]. This is what I had at hand when I wanted to test with a swaybar[emoji106].

What do you think are the pros and cons of the rear sway bar?

Ive thought about one for years and seen some use them but never drove one.

I like to run very soft suspension with a a fair amount of droop,-so my experience is that the sway bar improves the stability :) But the the torsion bar I run is not stiff,-on my SuduOne,I ended up with 1,2 mm piano wire after testing. The stiffnes must somehow match the weight of the rig,-there is a balance before it "overtakes" the dampers making the rig more unpredictable,-if you know what I mean

Do not see many drivers running sway bar,-but it works well for my driving style ;-)
