Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. You have been busy!! I like the rear driveshaft! Why did you go that route and not SDI? What gear are you using for the OD/UD? |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
Gears are HR 27/8 and 30/8 ,-would have liked more difference,-maybe experiment with different height tires front to rear..... ?? . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. This was the first body for the rig: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ACME-1-16-R...IAAOSwcUNbcqlE https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f3dadf9723.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5db225d717.jpg But I was not that happy with recovery and the body is a bit fragile. So I will be running this Xciter body: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...83108ad9a9.jpg Here you can see the sway bar aswell. . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. That thing is bad ass! |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Nice ground clearance under axle: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d8d03b3104.jpg Battery under servo/linkmount plate: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bb5d7777d0.jpg . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Brass weights are these,-I just cut off the largest outside part of them,-that diameter fits perfect inside the DE Racing wheels : https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Heavy-...AAAOSwmFhb1J26 https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...31f1c084e7.jpg Homemade alu weight hangers: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ccf391829a.jpg . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Good find on the brass weights! Are those bent rod ends on the skid plate for 4mm rods? If so, do you have a link for them? Too bad the rod ends slots are not bent already... Making links is muck easier if the rodends are straight. |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
The rod ends are from the XR10 parts #80057,-and drilled to take 4mm rod ;-) Axial #31186 M4 rod end set have bent rod ends aswell,-they are beefier "thumbsup" , |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Always good to know!! How does it work on the rocks? Happy with it? How about your other shafty rigs? Did you sell them? |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
Takes time to get used to less overdrive,-and maybe I need some more weight up front....but overall I'am very pleased with the performance "thumbsup" I did run the old rig at Nordics,-because I know it better than this new one. But Asle (Brumle) drove this rig at Nordics,-and he did well considering he had not driven it before and was a bit afraid of wrecking it :ror: I have only sold one rig,-my Sucker Punch shafty loaner ;-) Still have some Losi's and the SuDuOne. . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Video of Asle driving my rig at Nordic's in Sweden "thumbsup" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h1f...LF2q1&index=12 . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. nice rig! and good driving. the sway bar is a good help in the torque twist effect? congratulations |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
Thanks "thumbsup" With very soft shocks I find the sway-bar useful :) |

Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Ahhhh! Now that sounds like a good plan!! |

Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. So, does it fit the chassis?! |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
I hope it will fit "thumbsup" . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Finally some updates "thumbsup" In order to mount the Stealth X trans,-I needed a new skid, and with the links already made for SuDuOne trans,-the choice was given ;-) Blank SuDuOne FL skid drilled and "milled" for Stealth bolt pattern. : |

Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Tight but if fits! That is nice work! Like we talked during EC it sure looks heavy.... |

Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck Enigma sportsman. Even though it was a bit cold and not much grip, I did some testing today. So much better with the extra over drive from the Stealth X [emoji106][emoji41]. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f2325bd841.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...051c3037cd.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...034ad6dcb1.jpg : |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Beautiful pictures"thumbsup" Interesting move on the transmission. Are the axles over driven at all, or are you relying on the transmission only? |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. That's a great looking truck! Nice build. |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
Front axle is over driven,-but I find the 27/8 to 30/8 ratio difference to be too small. Much better now with the added 11,83 % overdrive in the transmission ;-) . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:

Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
Agreed. 27/8 = 3.375 30/8 = 3.75 I have one of these transmissions on order to give it try. I have found that I prefer to keep the axles geared as low as possible and do the over driving in the transfer case or transmission. We have a few trucks set up with the Dlux fab cheezeburger or the RC4WD over/under transfer case that allow for this. |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Any body off shots? Curious how you hooked the sway bar up. "thumbsup" |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
I recycled some brackets originally made for the Sucker Punch chassis[emoji6]. And the swaybar links are mounted to the axle with help from some HR Losi night crawler lower link mounts[emoji3]. This is what I had at hand when I wanted to test with a swaybar[emoji106]. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9409ded1f1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d58f489d32.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...41e506bca2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f0eec17e19.jpg . |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. I like the out of the box thinking. "thumbsup" What do you think are the pros and cons of the rear sway bar? Ive thought about one for years and seen some use them but never drove one. |
Re: Jens’ custom UnStuck TransOne Enigma sportsman. Quote:
I like to run very soft suspension with a a fair amount of droop,-so my experience is that the sway bar improves the stability :) But the the torsion bar I run is not stiff,-on my SuduOne,I ended up with 1,2 mm piano wire after testing. The stiffnes must somehow match the weight of the rig,-there is a balance before it "overtakes" the dampers making the rig more unpredictable,-if you know what I mean  Do not see many drivers running sway bar,-but it works well for my driving style ;-) . |
