Default The CABRITO

Well I won a Capra a few weeks ago and have had it here on my shelf. Was contemplating on trading it or selling it since I’ve got my 1.9 axial SCX10II that I have been slowly finishing up and haven’t really taken it out yet. But after reading and watching videos on this thing I said the HELL with it opened up the box and started building. I still haven’t bought the electronics or tires but thought I would build it and put it on blocks until I buy all that I need.got as far as the transmission today Hope to get the rig finished tomorrow I’ve been using marine grease for it all instead of the supplied black grease that came with it

You will be extremely happy that you didn't sell it.

To stop thinking and start building was a good choice. A Capra's gotta climb!

You have to put the two pieces together then insert the pin through the holes after they are lined up. It can be a pain.

Need to post up some progress pics. But has anyone had issues with these darn wheels? I’m putting some proline tsl super swampers and they don’t grab.

Thanks for the good deal on this killer rig. I cant wait to get it in my hands. Now I just have to figure out what direction I want to go with electronics. Thinking of budget and revolver w/sw4. She will be getting a Tekin t440 servo that I have on hand.

I have made a few dramatic changes so far. Increased steering angle, modified transmission to accept a 10t pinion on my puller 400. Waiting for a magnum to become available.

Currently waiting on parts to get in. While I'm waiting I will install internal limiters in the shocks and get the electronics installed. Gotta come up with a paint scheme as well.

Thanks freak for the good deal.

Do you have pics of what you did? I’m running 11t now but have a10t just really didn’t look into making it work.

No I don't. I just elongated the bottom hole and also moved it upwards toward the spur shaft. I also used a standard m3 screw on the bottom. You may need to trim on the trans to clear a larger motor.

My motor also has a protruding part that guides along the pinion hole. I had to remove a bit of material in that slot near the spur gear to gain enough clearance there as well. Some motors are completely flat and will not require that trimming. If I open it up I'll snap a picture.
