I'm currently running the HW 1080 esc and the Redcat 17t motor on 3s. I was running the same esc and the Trailmaster 550 21t on 3s. Only reason for the change my bro needed a motor at an event. So I gave him my 21t.

If you want brushed motor again I was running titan 21t traxxas.If you gear low you won't have problems with overheating.
