Default Front Tires Supposed to be Toe In?

Stock bomber with incision ss steering link. With the steering link rod ends tight, the front wheels have some toe in. I have to loosen the rod ends on each end to where there is a gap between the rod end and link (almost exposing a thread) to get the front wheels with some, but less toe in.

Is this right?

Pretty annoying. Are your incision ss or vp titanium?

Thats how all VP steering is for some reason. I've got the Ti steering and its the same, except I have 2 or 3 threads showing but has held up just fine.

I'd suspect they use the same length tie rod for all ar60 applications. If that's the case it explains the need to thread the ends out more on some setups since the older wraith knuckles had changeable steering arms that were slightly different lengths.

It's an easy fix though. Just get jato ends and trim them to fit so you don't have any exposed threads. It's stronger that way too.

Good idea about cutting down jatos. Ive found them to be a little too long in a couple applications. Shoulda thought of that...

As to the OPs issue, my steering link was fine but my draglink and panhard bar (cms setup) had the same problem. Had to use one jato and one revo on the draglink and settled for 1/2 a thread showing on each end of the panhard. VP everything, go figure.

I run the VP wraith scale knuckles and c hubs. They even tell you that you'll need to unscrew your ends a thread or two..which is what I did on my Incision tie rod.

Unless you make your own custom links, it wont always be perfect with production parts.

VP used to have another verison that had less bends on both sides so it was a little longer. It was for the racing ackerman arms they used to sell which had longer high steer arms.

Right, I have a set of those arms and the tie rod for them. But you're right, i think they used to sell a different tie rod. I don't believe they sell the longer version of the tie rod any longer and instead just instruct to leave the ends threaded out.

I have that same rod on my bomber. I just losened the end pivots (unthread them a little) and then put a plastic washer in the gap so I could tighten the pivot end.
