Default SCX turning radius

Is the turning radius of the SCX better than the AX 10? The AX 10 takes gobs of room due to the locked diffs.

Thanks for any replies in advance.

I don't have anything to compare it to but,I'd assume it would be the same. The axles are the same for both rigs.

The wheelbase is a bit shorted so it might have a slightly smaller turning radius, but being that the axles are the same and locked, it's still going to be big.

after only building comp rigs in the past, the turning radius of the scx10 left alot to be desired

i ended up installing the diff gears of my ax10 rtr into the front axles

I was looking at mine hoping to find ways to cut down the raduis a little and i think the first step would be cvds. The dog bones seem to be the first thing to lock the steering up. After that you can gain a little more by swapping out the button head screws out for flat heads, other than that i dont see much else that can be done.

Would the aluminum knuckles from the AX-10 also help? It looks like it would give an extra couple of degrees.

the diff gears are not included in the scx10 kit. the rtr has them pre installed and i belive the original ax10 kit includes the diff gears

the axial universals w/ the rcp max clearence knuckles are the ticket if you want more throw in the front wheels. ive heard people have also had luck w/ a bta set up

If you use a hi turn motor like a 27t the rear end will swing around like a real truck turning on loose dirt my scx is bone stock right now with big plans in the dome piece
