I am in the process of doing the same thing, building an SCX10 for not too much money. After being on this forum and researching for a couple of months here is what I have found to be a good setup: Tekin 45t Motor W/ FX-R ESC Crawler Combo: http://www.montanascaledesigns.com/s...osbt8oc95q7ao7 Hitec 5645MG servo: http://www.shop.rpphobby.com/product...&productId=381 Tactic TTX240 2.4GHz Transmitter/receiver: https://www.ultimatehobbies.com/ista...N%2FA&subsize= Get a 7.2 volt 6 cell 3300 NiMH from: http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com DuraTrax Onyx 200 AC/DC Sport Peak Charger: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXTCJ8&P=ML That setup will get you up and running with high quality components without spending an arm and a leg doing so. |

Compare prices in the Vendor section for new parts. You could buy a star and check the for sale section, because there might be great deals on the parts you need in that section. |

some parts listed up there are good to start with and keep, just do a little more research on which items you want since electronics and stuff stay with you long after youve let go of a rig. GL
