Does the TR bumper acted the same as the Honcho bumper????? I am not sure exactly what you're asking. If you meant attach, yes, but the Honcho bumper sits higher than the TR bumper.

I have the OG betty body SCX10 and am wondering if the Tr bumper is a bolt on fit or what I need to use it?

It is a direct bolt on but I didn't like how low the bumper sat in relation to the body.

I made a thin metal mount from the center plate off the original Honcho bumper. I bent it 90 degrees so that I could mount it to the front battery plate location and the mounting surface would be above the frame rails and much closer to the body.. I drilled two holes in the mount for the bumper legs to slide into. I cut the legs off the original plastic bumper mount that slides into the frame rails. I then super glued the modified flat original bumper mount to the mount that I made to make a snug fit. haven't had any problems.

You may be able to see how the mount was made from this pic.

I tried both the Honcho Bumper and my TR bumper on my honcho and have to say from experience its the same either way. Its not the bumper really its the mount. If you do what kmrunner did and made your own mount you could still use the kick ass bumper that comes with the Honcho and still have that metal skid plate. So.....mount the bumper higher and there ya go more clearence.
