Great paint job. I don't care for the bodies Axial puts out with their kits (my SCX body is still sitting on my dresser unpainted) but you did it some justice. Good job.

Default paint job

Your paint job look good. Did you paint the top of the bed area the same color?

actually i kept it clear for the most part, and just painted the support beams (*for lack of proper term) gun metal to match the upper portion of the lid

whenever i paint a body w/ a bed i tend to keep the bed clear. i think being able to look down into the internals is pretty cool. *just me i guess

Nice work! I actually like this body and is one of the reasons why I bought the SCX10! This body most resembles mine and my dad's 55 Chevy truck that we converted to 4x4. I'm going to paint mine to match our 1:1.

Default updates on my scx10

so i picked up a proline 1980 blazer cgr body about a week ago and thought id post pics of my build

i noticed that the blazer unlike the ambush was made w/ a 12.5 inch wheelbase so i did a little trimming toawrd the center line to make the body fit a little better
im planning on ordering a set of axial 101mm grey straight links to push the rear wheels back a little along w/ a grey spacer 10mm longer than stock for the 3link

*can somone point me in the right direction on where i can get these items?? ive already checked rrp tcs and ckrc

personally i like to mount my bodies relatively low
basically i like to have the bottom of the body flush with the bottom of the chassis.
so i did a little trimming for the rear shock towers

*tbc

Default proline wester bumper install

finally got a chance to rip open the package that came in from rpp last week
i ordered a set of the proline bumpers, the proline roof rack, and a 3 racing winch

because the blazer is relatively longer i needed to do a little fabbing
note that im very limited when it comes to tools (basically some standard hand tools and a dremel) and i was too tired and lazy to go to the hardware store for materials, so i just did some rummaging around and found these random items

nylon pegs from a book shelf

a divider from my file cabinet *notice where i cut out the corner to make some brackets

a piece of spare lexan i used to to make lens sheilds for a cameras at an airsoft event

so here's what i came up with

-rear bumper

-front bumper
* i accidentally broke the original cross member

*tbc

Default just a quick update and pics

made and bolted up some scrap lexan to lower the mounting position of the rear of the body

also finished painting the body and mounting the rollcage and proline roof rack
i got the idea for the design from the axial trail ranger pics

just posted this one to show off the marbling effect i did in the body stripes (inspired by the marbling done on jason's creeper build). i think i went a little overboard w/ the amount of metal flake i used in the green portions. as for the inside of the cab and the sides of the bed i painted the outside flat black
