Default Trans flipped 180º?

In surfing through builds and pics I see some trucks have the trans/motor flipped 180º from what my Honcho TR has. My motor is on the left side with spur facing rearward, but some are the other way.

I was wondering what the purpose of this is?

Thanks,
Kevin

Mostly for clearance for custom bodies/interiors and more room up front for electronics.

It is also to get rid of some torque twist. I did this to mine as well. It is best to have your driveshafts on the left hand side of the rig.

To offset torque twist....works great, mine is motor on right side with spur towards the rear. This gets the most motor weight as forward and to the right as possible.

That and a slightly heavier spring on the right rear works wonders.

Okay, thanks. Not anything I really need to worry about at this point but good to know it's an option.

Mirroring the trans is super simple and I did it mostly cause I didnt have anything else to do lol. Did I notice any difference...nope, but its good to do all you can to fight the twist.

I was looking into doing this, I'm putting the honcho kit together and my 60mm long motor is getting in the way for mounting electronics. So is there any downside to mirroring the trans? It just results in a different weight bias?

That would be LEFT rear, but this has it's drawbacks too.

I agree w/ Matt-I didn't notice a difference either way...maybe because I'm working on it more than driving it? I flipped mine to free up room for the interior to come. Good luck!
