Default Servo for the SCX-10

Just bought a SCX-10 (in the mail ). Now looking for a servo to drive it. Weighing up the pros and cons between a Traxxas 2075 and one of the Hitecs. Two questions (one specifically SCX-10 related, the other general)

1. Does the SCX-10 kit provide a servo arm that fits the Traxxas? Instructions do not mention Traxxas, but are their teeth the same as another brand?

2. Does it matter - Digital or Non Digital servos, if I'm running a Spektrum DX3S?

Cheers

If i'm not mistaken traxxas 2075 is plastic geared, not saying that's bad but I have gotten my scx10 stuck pretty good where plastic gears might break. Just do a search here on what servo to use, you should find what a lot of people are using.

I'm running 2075waterproof traxxas for water crossings, trailing along the river etc...and running hitec 985 ultra torque for dry trailing where The metal carbonite gear is alot stronger than plastic and that extra 4kg over the traxxas helps too..as for digital vs analoge..not much difference digital is more precise and slightly quicker which we don't need on our trail rigs..and for the servo horn or arm..hitec and traxxxas are the same 24tooth..I suggest got an aluminum one for $10 looks ballinnn and very strong..

Traxxas servos suck. Go with a HiTec, or I'm running a Savox 1256 in mine. You can get some quality JR or Futaba ones too, but sometimes more expensive.

Almost all servos mount up the same way.
I tried running the Traxxas 2075 and after getting bound up in some rocks one time, it BROKE!
So now I'm running the Hobbico CS-170 Titanium gear high torque servo... It's amazing!!!
Over 300oz of torque makes steering thru the rocks a breeze!!
Really great value too! I picked it up for $67

I'm going to be running a spektrum servo, I will take it apart and put some dielectric grease in it. It's got 278oz of torque. If you google the traxxas 2075. It claims 125oz, but they did a test and it was barely 100oz:/

I ran a Traxxas 2075, it heated up to 130degrees in about 5 minutes of crawling some minor rocks. I was running a 3s lipo and a Holmes ESC (6 volt bec built in). I would suggest to get the best/most torque servo you can afford. I run a Savox SC-1268SG 417oz at 6v(?). Got it on ebay for $96 shipped. Hi-Tec is also good if you get the metal geared ones.

My "guess-timate" on torque was way off, it's only 347.2@ 7.4v.
