Talking Scx10 tundra

So while I was at my first local comp this weekend running my bully 2 on Saturday I saw this awesome scx10 for sale.
And I absolutely couldn't resist. So I came back Sunday morning. Snagged it. Adjusted a couple links and borrowed a set of flat iron tires and a battery, tires that came with it are very small 1.9s. And ran that thing all day, hard. And it was a ton of fun. Met a lot of awesome people too!
So this truck came with a custom welded in chassis servo mount, a protek rc 270t servo, 570oz of torque! A mambax max pro, xr10 uni mod, beef tubes vanquish locker, at least in the front haven't taken the rear apart, over under gears. Steel driveshafts not sure what brand they both look different, tube bed, tundra hard body and plenty of other things I haven't even figured out yet.

I actually had a set screw back out of the locker and round my axle a tiny bit. Thought I broke an axle and finished the course in 3wd. But it was still awesome. It took everything I threw at it.
And the over under gears with all that steering made an incredible difference making all the corners a lot of people couldn't make.
Here it is with the flat irons on it. They worked great.

And I believe this is a vanquish locker. I could be wrong as I am new to this stuff. And then some more pictures of everything.

I also used the string of LEDs from my mad torque to make headlights and a front rock light. trimmed them and glued them together then right into place. they look pretty good I have four left that I'm going to use for rock lights at some point. or tail lights. not sure.

Thanks for looking.
I'm having some binding issues with my pan hard link hits everything. not terribly but want to be able to use the rest of my suspension. I'll post more pics later though.

Made a bed plate out of some plexiglass. Also added some to the back of the cab to keep the Mud off the electronics a bit still needs to be sanded down and painted again. Also added some sliders. Attached to the cage and the body mounts. Put them just under the body so they are a bit more realistic. Sadly the body mounts are aluminum so I decided to jbweld it on. And it already fell off one side. So I put it back on and I'll have to make something more permenant later on with body mounts attached. I also welded on a bumper since the front had been welded already for the cms mount. Not much of a bumper but its something until I buy a new frame.

In case you were wondering jb weld is not up to the task of holding rock sliders on. Time to build some with body mounts attached with some real weld.

Few more scale improvements. Plates from plexiglass holding my taillights. Also two more rocklights. Bolted my spare down. And redid my wipers and door handles as I ripped them off

So I'm looking into ordering the rc4wd 2 speed and a brush less motor from Holmes hobbies. Im looking at the puller pro xl. Can someone tell me what kV motor I should be looking into? That motor comes in 2100 and 3500 or should I be looking into the regular puller pro 540 in like a 2700kv?
Some assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Forget the 2 speed, go with the standard 2700 or 3500... I have the 3500 puller pro in my scx10.2 and its all the speed and low end resolution you need. A 2 speed trans with a brushless motor will be uncontrollable at high speed anyway...the xl version of the puller pro likely will have clearance issues

So I've been trying to wait till I'm done but my lhs is taking forever to get me axle shafts. Thats what I get for trying to give them some business. Probably charge an extra 10 bucks.
So I had a&m garage make me a new tube bed with a cberc ultra frame rails. Love the way it came out. Decided to give it some new kicks and some brass beef tubes to replace the aluminum in the front.
So here's the goodies list.
Cheap Chinese beadlocks. Actually like them a lot.
Brass beef tubes
VP cms mount.
KLR golds
Rock armor hitch plate
Cheap led controller.
And a cheap bumper.
Lots of cheap stuff for scx10 on the wish app. Plus they gave me the wrong wheels so I go a full refund and got to keep them. Like I said she's not done yet. But getting very close.
Made a new electronics tray from styrene.
Also had to drill a hole in the frame for the cms mount.
Made some foams from window sealing foam
More pics to come.

Time to switch hosts to imgur, flickr, google, etc. Then close photobucket and leave a nice note behind.

So after being mad about photobucket for awhile. So many good old threads gone now. However wanted to show off how different the tundra looks now. I'll post a couple pictures of what it looked like when I got it in April.
Since those original pictures, I have added tko10 axles.
Vanquish cms setup.
Splined beef tubes up front and regular in the rear.
Xr mod was already done but its got vanquish knuckles and chubs now.
And obviously the cage and frame from a&m garage.
Protek 370tbl servo
Holmes hobbies brushless 2700kv trail master. Geared 11/54 right now.
Wertymade flat top stinger bumper.
Mad dog rc fairlead mount kit.
Proline 2in light bar.
Ci dual stage comp cut foams medium in front hard in rear.
Proline power stroke shocks.
Jevne racing cms battery tray.
Made my own servo winch but its giving me trouble at the moment.
Bf good rich krawler tires and fanquish wheels.
Trucks doing well. Thanks for looking.

Forgot I got a powershift rc servo winch pst444. Tons of power not too slow. Cut up some inner fenders from my trx4 too.
