good travel shocks for 1.9er

i like the scale affect of the honcho, dont get me wrong its awesome. BUT the shocks just arent cutting it. this seems to be the shock i see alot of people working with. eventually ill be stretching it for 2.2s but for now ima keep the 1.9s

good shocks for 1.9s?

also does axial or anyone make a kit that switches out all the plastic parts to a metal? i just like the idea of all metal.

Rebuilding the stock shocks with the aluminum parts makes a big diffrence.

i knew they made the links. my fault for not being specific i meant the plastic parts mounted on the chassis. the shock hoops. skid plate. and crossmembers i know rc4wd makes rock sliders and bumpers of metal. and from a little poking around the net i can see that vanquish makes the shock hoops.

Check out these guys seem to have a good selection of parts.

I'd leave the skid plate plastic but that's just my preference as the plastic won't grab onto the rocks like aluminum will.

Losi comp shocks work great.... plus they are 2.2 shocks, that way you dont need to buy new shocks when you go 2.2 with the rig"thumbsup"

i run the Proline Scaler shocks with my 1.9's then switched to 2.2's and i still used the same shocks, and they work great.you dont need a lot of flex with scalers..

BRASSKNUCKLES 12-02-2010 11:17 AM

i robbed the shocks from my night crawler. they work really good on 2.2 flatirons

I run my axial plastic shocks with 2-3 drops of oil in them. Just enough to lube the shaft and piston during travel.

Works alot better than having them full of oil, and will hold me over until i feel like i need new shocks.
