"lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai This build is not going to take a long time... Don't miss the badass video in post 10!! First off let me thank Kaetwo for building this cage/chassis for me over a year ago. And let me apologize for just now posting a build thread. It has occured to me recently that I have missing out on the great times to be had with this rig. So to start the build thread off here is what I am working with.

Oh man, everyone in the XR section is going scaler. Awsome, cant wait to see what you come up with. |
This Sammy already performs really well...now that it's waterproof too it's even more fun to watch! |

Definitely not giving up the XR. We got a comp coming up this weekend. We just have to have something else to do in our spare time. Quote:
Give me about 5min and you'll see."thumbsup" |
So it started itself out as "wee lil sammie" http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMG_1936.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMG_1940.jpg "Size Matters!""thumbsup" http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMG_1938.jpg |
Now, fast-foward about a year. Enter "lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai. Didn't care for looks of the "Rock Beast" tires as they look to much like monster truck tire. Though I do have to say they perform excellent. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMG_2160.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMAG0086.jpg Much better. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/IMAG0103.jpg Here's a couple swag pics http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/sammy005.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...5/sammy001.jpg |
Nice, I wasnt saying you were giving up 2.2comp. Just think its cool all the guy with XR's are building scalers at the same time. |
I'm on that list too! |
Yes, I saw that and DT, murderface, and some guys locally that I know. All the guys I know are running 2.2 scalers as well. |

So to make this an official build thread I'll throw a little tech in here. My water proofing techniques are very simple and similar to others. I use dielectric grease on absolutly everythings insides. Servo - Filled the servo's case and I also did the o-ring mod there with dielectric grease on it then slipped over the output shaft of the servo. Closed it up siliconed it shut. Reciever - Filled with dielectric grease. Then bagged and tagged it. ESC - Already waterproofed. Nothing required with mine. Connectors - All connectors were ffilled and coverd with dielectric grease. Motor - sprayed it down with Fluid Film. Battery - Plasti-Dipped http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...tricgrease.jpghttp://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...tertvclear.jpghttp://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86...uid-Film_2.jpg |
