"lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai

This build is not going to take a long time... Don't miss the badass video in post 10!!

First off let me thank Kaetwo for building this cage/chassis for me over a year ago. And let me apologize for just now posting a build thread. It has occured to me recently that I have missing out on the great times to be had with this rig. So to start the build thread off here is what I am working with.
  • SCX10 based chassis
  • Reign Labs designed and built cage, stinger and bumpers.
  • Loaded Axial axles HD gears F/R with Overdrives up front.
  • Stage 3 racing solid lockers
  • Axial cvd's
  • Axial aluminum knukles and chubs
  • Summit Tranny
  • MIP Shafts
  • HB's CMS
  • R2J 4 link Rear
  • Traxxas TRA2660 Shocks
  • RC18T gold springs on the rear
  • Losi MiniT orange up front
  • CaC 2.2 EZ-Locks /w widest hubs
  • 2.2 Rc4wd - Rok Lox
  • JP Customs 35T Warrior
  • And all the standard other electronics, yada, yada, yada...."thumbsup"
So on to the inspiration:

This Sammy already performs really well...now that it's waterproof too it's even more fun to watch!

Definitely not giving up the XR. We got a comp coming up this weekend. We just have to have something else to do in our spare time.

Now, fast-foward about a year. Enter "lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai.

Didn't care for looks of the "Rock Beast" tires as they look to much like monster truck tire. Though I do have to say they perform excellent.

Jeepkid 02-21-2011 09:55 PM

No doubt! Its a awesome to drive and actually crawls really well."thumbsup"

So to make this an official build thread I'll throw a little tech in here. My water proofing techniques are very simple and similar to others. I use dielectric grease on absolutly everythings insides.

Servo - Filled the servo's case and I also did the o-ring mod there with dielectric grease on it then slipped over the output shaft of the servo. Closed it up siliconed it shut.

Reciever - Filled with dielectric grease. Then bagged and tagged it.

ESC - Already waterproofed. Nothing required with mine.

Connectors - All connectors were ffilled and coverd with dielectric grease.

Motor - sprayed it down with Fluid Film.

Battery - Plasti-Dipped
