I think it's good, and I'm collecting bits to start a brat/scx10 build myself. So I watch! Curious how long those axles will hold out, with the shocks direct mounted like that.

Use Beef Toobs in the axles. Nice solid mounting point.

i have even been using the plastic lock outs:lmao: but recently ordered aluminum lock outs. hadn't thought about the beef tubes! those two together should make a very solid mounting point and may even be able to inboard them some that way"thumbsup"
thanks for pointing that out:)

Re: Brat Build(easy, cheap)(finishing the rear axle)

on the front axle it was basically standard except swapping out the links. i used 80mm on the lower links( again you can make this length in many different ways) and 55mm post with the standard 3 link y up top
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...223121251a.jpg
mounted the brace with the battery post to the front( you could use the bumper mount brace if not running your battery up front)
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...223121251b.jpg
again i swapped the drive shaft parts out for the short versions on the extra parts tree, no cutting required"thumbsup".
also cut the battery mount spacer down 5mm's
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...0227121541.jpg
this gets the battery plate down lower and sits it down on top of the receiver box.
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...0224121258.jpg http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...224121257a.jpg you could cut down the other 2 spacers also but i didn't ( the receiver box stop's it)

Re: Brat Build(easy, cheap)(time for the front axle)

now your pretty much done, any questions or suggestion's are welcome. got some more planned for the "BIG BRAT"

Re: Brat Build(easy, cheap)(time for the front axle)

got the rc4wd Stubby bumper and winch in and mounted up. think it looks good on the brat body. not to wide, room for a winch and a little protection for the front.
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...0229121117.jpg
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...229121117a.jpg

have a rear bumper that i'm thinking of running, need to take off the bumper on the brat body and that way it will sit closer and higher to the body( about where the stock one is now). would like some opinions before i cut the body up though please.

Looks great, I am building one too, we can share ideas. I like this body because it has a low center of gravity.

Re: Brat Build(easy,cheap)(Bumper's Added!!)

i have always been a fan of the brat. plus it was something different than the hilux, jeep, fj40, crowd. would love to get the body lower and cover the frame more, still have a few things planned.

Re: Brat Build(easy,cheap)(action shot's!!)

wasn't getting many opinions about what to do on the bumper, so i went ahead and cut the stock bumper off using the thread methd
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...302121817a.jpg
mounted my other bumper closer to the body
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/...0302121817.jpg

i think it looks good. the d-ring mount is also removable and can be used as a hitch mount."thumbsup"

Re: Brat Build(easy,cheap)(new rear bumper!!)

That's very good! rcnitro is the cheapest place I've found to buy a brat body set. I have 2 now from them! Along with a whole bunch of other goodies.

I like the bumper but not the fit. Sorry. I think it's too wide for the body. Can you narrow it?

thanks"thumbsup" and it is indeed wide! been playing and thinking around of ways to narrow it. may cut it straight off at the ends about where the fender's are the widest.
