Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? Okay, so I'm doing some mock up and I put on some high clearance knuckles. I was going to run the servo on the axle until I get around to a CMS, but the linkage is all hosed up. The servo horn is below and in front of the tie rod, and if I move the tie rod to the bottom of the knuckle arms it hits the diff. Any hints on what to start changing? The only way I see to do it is use offset rod ends and put some bends in the tie rod. |
Re: Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? I ran my drag link in the forward hole under the arm, and the tie rod ontop of the arm in the rear hole. Allows you to open up your endpoints for slightly better leverage and makes for good operating angles. Somehow the only pic I have showing it. http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/.../kodac2185.jpg The angle of the drag link is mostly an optical allusion because the truck is at full lock and angled over. Straight ahead it's almost parralell with the tie rod. I used a T-maxx turnbuckle with Jato ends for a tie rod with the Vanquish zero ackerman arms. It's still not as good as a BTA setup, but it's a marked improvement over stock. |
Re: Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? Never mind, I found a Hand Bros. CMS |
Re: Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? That is an option if the HB doesn't come through. Thanks for the input. |
Re: Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? any close up pics with the links?i have high steering knuckles, and whanna make an idea how to fit them.THX |
Re: Axial high clearance knuckles w/ servo on axle? my friends have the BTA knuckles on backwards so the link is in the front.. works awesome.. the pics i have of their rigs is not a good picture because you cant really see the setup but they have the tie rod on top of knuckle and drag link on the bottom or 2nd to last hole on the servo horn and the bottom of knuckle. |
