I tried it once and as Nix said I would have had to really trim some body. Went with PL 1.9 TSL SX, they're big enough in my opinion without having to destroy,( again my opinion) the body.

I've only had time for a few minute test, but I just borrowed a friends set of 2.2's from an old Scorpion to try on my Rubicon. I was able to get enough clearance by simply raising the body post up as high as they'd go. Will test more the next time our group gets together.

3 Jeeps in the Woods. And a Gmade Sawback!

Here's a video of someone's Jeep with them, as per me asking what tires/wheels he was running.

I tried mounting 2.2 ripsaws, way too big. I then went with 1.9 Mickey Thompson's Baja Claws, they are very good tires, I really think 2.2 on a scx-10 ruins suspension travel and makes it a High center of gravity. Yes it gives you more tread and ground clearance but its not worth it. And its not scale, you have trim the hell out of your body just to make them fit right.

I run 2.2 slingers sometimes. I used a level 3 rc lift if I do run them which other people don't like but I don't wanna trim my body since im not running them all the time I can lower it bak down in a min to run 1.9s

I had 2.2 swamper sx's on mine before I sold it, had to run a 103mm shock, and take off the fenders and cut the body and they still rubbed when I stuffed the tire up hard.

The best way to run 2.2s on the Rubicon is to use wideners on the axles or use Wraith axles on it. I am running 2.2 Flat irons but have Wraith axles.

Bull im running 2.2 integy beadlocks with mud slingers, all i did was buy a suspension lift bump it up a notch and put 103mm Gmade aeration shocks on no rubbing and DEFINETLY no trimming! Works perfect!!

all I did was raise the body and make a new bracket for the spare tire, so I could run my 2.2 Flat Irons on Pro-line eight shooter bead locks..absolutely no trimming was needed

I just mounted some Rox Lox on my rubicon. For those of you who say trimming the body isn't scale, and the tires are just too big, then you need to check this out. I have seen this Jeep in person, as the company that builds them is only about 1 hour south of my house.

also this is what are called "highline" fenders.

the Jeep on the left has what are called Highline Fenders. I took this highline look in my trimming. I get NO rubbing on the rears, and only a tiny amount of rubbing on the front but only when turned hard to one side.
