First build into the area of a rock crawler/scale rig. I have no build pictures as I know you have all seen a TON of them. My current set up is an all stock Dingo kit. The power is from a brushed motor with no markings from an Exceed Driftsar, XL5 ESC, and BlackOps 2s 5000mah batteries (Ask your local Hobbytown USA about em', that is where I got mine). Steering is from a Turnigy 958 servo and all are guided by a DX3S. I had no issues with the kit except for the spacer that goes in the lowest gear of the transmission. It doesn't fit and it seems none do in anybody's kit. A great thing I'll give Axial is EXTRA PARTS! Had multiple ball links and eyelets left over as well as some axles. The only thing I'm going to do is soften the front end as I can't get full articulation before or just as it hits the bump stops. I do have two accessories on the way. A winch and the Reign RC light bucket/bezel kit. QUESTIONS- 1. Wraith interior- is there an install guide somewhere? I've just seen pictures after install but no "instructions" or tips. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps1c1ccd31.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psac72dc93.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps47e3fe3b.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps55909382.jpg |
It is lit! With some pretty interesting connections. :) All LED's and such purchased from Radioshack. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps9270612a.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psd243937e.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psc79dde7f.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps28794b0f.jpg |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Intresting wiring |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Agreed! Thats some crazy ass wiring!"thumbsup" What happens when it gets wet..... |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Haha thanks. I haven't driven it in water WITH lights yet. We will see... I do know it is a solid connections as I can pick up the truck by the cage, shake it every direction and the lights don't flicker, fade, or cut out. |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Well, spent four hours driving it around today at Flat Rock Park here in Columbus, Ga. I haven't had the fun I had today in a while. Spent those hours wheeling with one of my friends before he leaves out for Texas. The Dingo drove excellent as expected and made it through some place I thought for sure it'd get hung up. I figured out I can run 2+ hours on a 5000mah 2S LiPo. For those wondering, my wiring didn't short out or get hot. ALL the LEDs stayed on ALL day; even when I decided to make the truck a submarine. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps58955e61.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps6d80d15d.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps8a33765f.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psa9340a4a.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psf8026ad4.jpg |
I like the wiring idea, functional.... Btw do you still need a windshield? I have one from a dingo that I never used. I just gotta find it and make sure I still have it. If I do, it's yours if you need it! |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Thanks for the compliment Kykrawler! I sent you a PM about the windshield. "thumbsup" |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Looks good. Wish I had a place like that to play. |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Thanks. The park is definitely nice. Has a good mix of everything you'd possibly want to put a crawler or scaler through. |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo what happens when you roll over or get the light connectors wet? |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo FORDROX97-Nothing. I had the Dingo completely submerged about 6 times Sunday. I'd check the front just before the Dingo came back up and the LEDs were still powered up, just as bright as before. I only had to back out of the water a few times from submerged and the tail lights were still on before and after the body broke the surface of the water. |
First "Scale" Accessories. Flannel Bedroll (Orange) and a simple a-frame tent (black). I'll be getting some "Scale" supports to roll in with the tent. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psddf2548d.jpg |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Huh. I'll have to try that! |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo I don't really understand the "interesting wirirng" whats happening there? it looks like you have wires going to the body posts? explanation? wait i think i get it now. Is it like a quick disconnect? should be no issues with water, it's a very low voltage, It's not going to arc. Unless your into some high turbidity (silty) water. |

Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo Just a few shots from wheelin' again yesterday. Tried out my new iPhone as the camera. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psf1a9fbbf.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psabe1b2dc.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...psd67a4b3f.jpg |
Re: Rcpilotjr's Dingo I've been enjoying my Dingo so much I forget to post.... LOL! A few weeks ago my no name motor started going bad. Dropped in an old Team Orion Core 27t and its been running like a champ since. Here it is with some new Axial 8 Hole Beadlocks and a fresh paint job. I'm really liking the red over the green. Also, broke my first part last weekend. Hit to steep of an incline and rolled end over end off of a ~12 ft. slope at probably a 65 degree angle. Only broke one of the front steering knuckles. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps0b97a145.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps5fe25d85.jpg That is a friend's WIP Dingo in front of me painted in olive drab. |
