Default Brushless 13.5T Motor in SCX10?

Hi guys just curious if anyone has any feedback on running a sensored 13.5T motor in a crawler? I just built a G6 kit and put a Tekin T35 brushed motor in it. I have a brushless system I'm not using and just wondering pros and cons if I decide to try it!

A 13.5 is the equivalent to a 27T brushed motor...shouldnt have a problem running it...Id recommend a 16 tooth motor pinion with the stock 87 tooth spur gear.

Only use a Brushless motor if it is SENSORED. I have a 17.5 in mine I like it better than the 13.5.

Yep, it'll work just fine. I'm running a Novak 13.5t on 3s in my SCEXO, and it's a lot of fun. Just set the throttle curve for lots of low end precision, and you're good to go.

I did have to upgrade the transmission gears (stripped 3 idlers in 2 days), but that's all.

If you can use your Novak 13.5t, that means maybe i can try my Tenshock 211 13.5T on it?? if yes, i will be happy, save my money!! Is the torque less?

A guy was running a 13.5 with us last weekend, holy crap I can't believe he didn't destroy that truck! After he turned things down his speed was about the same as my 21.5 but in the rocks it looked like he had a ton of power. Parts breaking power. Good thing he only had stock tires!

yep, it sure doesn't lack for torque or speed! I was recently able to wheelie (!) up a 45 degree rock face successfully with no issues haha.

The tenshock should work fine, just be sure to waterproof the sensor board (and esc of course) if you're planning on getting it wet.

I have the X211 13.5T in my truck and its a beast on 3S; tons of torque, plenty of wheelspeed, and better low end control than the Trinity 17.5T that I had before.

Thanks for the feedback! My 13.5 is a Hobbywing sensored motor! I was running it in my TLR22 Buggy at the race track but the aren't open on Sunday's anymore and that was the only day I could go there.. Thinking I will pull my system off of it and try it!

Any suggestions on an enclosed waterproof box for the ESC on an SCX10? I have two battery trays on it and want to move receiver and ESC to the rear battery tray in a waterproof enclosure if I can find a solution.

I have a turnigy trackstar 13.5t sensored in my SCX and I think it is well suited on 3S. Good wheel speed, good torque. 18/87 gearing. Could easily manage at 15/87 and still be fast

Well, since so many of you are running 13.5 brushless sensored I thought I should try it and see what I think! I can tell you after making the swap and running in the house I think I'm going to like it!
