| Wrangler Scaler Idea and Question
I plan to use the scx10 skid/transmission mount on GCM Crosscanyon frame rails, mounting it in the conventional center body location. I know guys have to cut the center console for the spur gear when using the axial frame rails. If I lower the cross canyon rails so they are near or slightly below the edge of the side steps/ body, will the complete motor, trans, and spur fit without cutting the console? Since I'm mounting it on new rails, I can locate the transmission forward or backward as much as I need to. Obviously I may have to get new driveshafts. I want the body as tight to the frame as possible because this is going to mimic a 2.5" lift on the 1:1. I'll be using 1.9's and 100mm +- tires. Thoughts? |

Why don't I just try it? Forgot to mention, I haven't bought an SCX yet.

I still don't have the trans and motor in hand but I went to tne store and measured. My idea won't work. At 3" top to bottom, the skid will be too far below body. If I lift the body, the 1:1 lift will look like 6". Just like all the other scx10 / new brights. I may go custom rails. Similar to crosscanyon combo, but better fit for low lift. |
