Which oils/greases for servicing?

While waiting on my AX10 to be delivered I went ahead and picked up a SCX10 to feed the scaler in me. Played around in some mud yesterday. Photo is before it got really dirty with two more 5000mAh NiMH packs through it.

My question is...which different cleaners and grease/lube should i use on the diffs, bearings, servo, and trans/transfer case? I'd like to make sure nothing bad is in the brushed motor, but as it's functioning i don't know if there is anything i can really do. . I'm going to do a complete tear-down and servicing/waterproofing with gasket sealer/dielectric grease.

I usually have a can of WD40 and spray down all the exposed bearings and metal parts. For grease I coat the bearings and gears with Lucas Red N tacky. Haven't had a problem playing in the water

Re: Which oils/greases for servicing?

Thanks. Found an unopened Lucas Red N Tacky. I also have some marine lower case lube, 80-90 i believe and valvoline wheel bearing grease from auto repairs, dielectric grease, and gobs of other junk. I didn't expect to be able to use things i already own or can get at AutoZone.

Back to tinkering.
