| Custom new bumper for my Honcho. Opinions wanted.
I mocked up the bumper I am thinking of for my Honcho. I eventually would like to make it out of brass, but for the moment it is cereal box, as is the mount, which I tried to build heavy to take a winch, eventually. It should be pretty solidly mounted, it actually has 5 mount points, the four screws (both cross members) in the sides of the chassis, and it is also around the front screw of the battery tray. Hood posts are lowered 4 holes from factory, and battery is lowered to clear the hood by simply removing the plastic stand-off between the tray and the cross member and tightening the screw further. It's kinda supposed to look like this |

looks good. I would say shorten it, width wise. maybe to just past the body. 1/16" or 1/8".

I agree with 2ply, it needs to be just a little closer to the body. I know photo's can be deceptive but it looks like it is over hanging your tire. I like where you're going with it. Should be easy to mount up a winch if that's what you have planned.

too me it looks good, but it appears that your tires are going to hit it during full flex, maybe bow it out so the tires clear, keep that in mind also if you decided to go to a bigger/taller tire, that will cause you issues as well

It is indeed wider than I had in mind.. it is not wider than the fender flares, though. It would take too much to shorten this one, but I will make another and try to correct some mistakes I already made. I like the mount, but there's a couple things on the bumper itself I'd like to change. Also, I had thoughts of filling it with 2-part epoxy when it gets a little closer to 'right' .. we'll see. |

I prefer a stubby bumper to help with approach angles.

Wasn't sure where you were going with that, but once I saw the 1:1 pic, I like it. Cant wait to see how it turns out!
