My scx10 jk build So I got my scx10 jk the other day and I'm trying to figure out how to go about the build. So far I used axle extensions from my slash trophy truck build and made it a little wider. Ill post some pictures when I figure that out. |
without the extensions http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps84745558.jpg With them http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psf6713479.jpg Wheels on with extenders http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps51ad4c25.jpg Half of the extenders (I think it's the best looking) http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps629e3d38.jpg And a side shot, so what do you guys think? |
Re: My scx10 jk build This is what I want my scx10 to look like http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psb83f0055.jpg any ideas what to attack next? Or how to remove/repainting the rtr body? |
Re: My scx10 jk build Bye Bye knuckle bearings. |
Re: My scx10 jk build Will they really wear out that fast? Is there another way to widen my stance? |
Re: My scx10 jk build Wraith axles will widen it like an inch or so. |
Re: My scx10 jk build Wraith axles look way to wide. I wanna go scale, am I doomed to go big or go home? |

Re: My scx10 jk build RC Crawler Boy is right, here is what some .725 Vanquish SLW hubs look like for a wide stance.. http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...608_112953.jpg |

Re: My scx10 jk build So I was looking at those OMF wheels from vanquish and is it really like $70 a wheel? |
Re: My scx10 jk build $207.03 Out the door. Not a cheap hobby at all. |
Re: My scx10 jk build Well it's gonna have to wait till the 15th. So I'm looking at getting the rigid 6" light bar for the front then solid links and a 4 link for the front. Any ideas on a company for links? |
Re: My scx10 jk build You could make your own or just get the 10pc set from vanquish. That way you can get steering links also. RPP BEST company out there go there, go to scx10 hop ups your mind will be blown. Get the 4link mount (what ever looks good) and links(vanquish) from them. In the upper right hand corner click coupons and use them. |

No because the wheel is attached where the stock hex location is. By attaching it to a hex widener like the original guy posted, you are putting the contact point/strain an additional inch out from the stock hex location |

Yeah i just checked. the 10 piece link set from vanquish is only for the Currie axles on the SCX 10 |

Re: My scx10 jk build Wideners, even the VP ones, still put more strain on the bearings as you are moving the entire wheel/tire out, which puts more leverage out past the bearings. They both accomplish the same thing. |
