Default motor just won't fit

Hi guys,
I'm building my SCX 10 Wrangler and I can't get my brushless motor to fit. I'm sorry I don't know the parts proper name but its the nut that holds the wishbone looking part to the frame. It will not allow me to seat the motor in. I can only think to add four shims to the transmission to bring it up a tick. Help please! I would have searched this question but my pad keeps wigging out when I try.

Thanks

Its a tekin Redline 13.5 sencored motor. I haven't figured out how to load pictures yet I guess its just to long. I thought guys were running brushless in these rigs ?

Have you tried using a smaller pinion or spur to move the motor closer to the centerline of the truck? What is your current gearing?

Possibly flipping the bolt around so that the buttonhead is on the inside by the motor and the nut is on the outside of the frame would also gain you a couple mm.

Yes agreed on running the head on the inside with the nut on the outside. Also, that plastic y-link won't last long if you're using a bl motor... If you drive anything like I do anyway Specifically, the end that connects to the upper part of the axle will rip out. Some washers and/or nitro fuel line may prolong it's life, best to go rear 4 link.

Isn't that a 550 size can? If so you have to flip that link screw around, much better the shimming up the trans which will make driveline angles steeper which is a recipe for joint failure. I had the same problem with a 550 tacon motor in mine, couldn't find a small enough pinion to make it work.

I guess it could a 550 but I thought it wasn't. OK flipping the screw is simple idea. Damn wish I'd have thought that.
