Default Honcho led lights

Hey I just got my scx10 honcho and was wondering if there is a way to turn off the LED lights? Or are they always on?

Thanks

Take a look or search for Heyok. He makes great electrical stuff for these rigs pertaining to lights and winches. I'm sure he can help you out.

You could put a switch in line with the stock "control board" to turn them on or off, or just unplug them if you want them off.

I added a toggle switch between the receiver and the Light controller. so I can turn off the lights with the flick of a switch.

I think they stay on all the time because mine don't have a switch unless you put one

ok thanks guys, Do you think the leds will reduce my run times a lot or at all?

if they don't then I will just leave them on, but if they do then I will just put in a switch

The LED lights run off your BEC circuit on your honcho. So the battery draw is minimal. If anything they are robbing power from your receiver and servo. But really its not alot. Its up to you to run a switch or not tho.

LEDs use almost no power at all and IMO the only reason to turn them off is for a scale look during the day.

A typical LED draws 25mA so you can do the math on what effects it has on your 4,000 - 5,000 mAH packs. (None)
