|  Super Shafty Bomb Proof Transmission getting hot..
I took the Honcho out today on a relatively flat hiking trail. No full throttle use, nothing to get the truck warm. Just a walking pace. I went up pick it up and trans was almost too hot to touch. The motor was cool to the touch. Anyone else experience this type of issue?

It did when I disassembled it last. That was around June.

I disassemble and regrease mine approx every 10 hours of run time. Grease will break down over time, and it is a good idea to regrease often. |

Do you ever run through water cause something has to be seizing up and if you do get in water and it aint been open since june its going to need some tlc for sure all new bearings maybe more...a nice tranny like this deserves to be maintained after every time it gets in water otherwise its a big waste of money...if its getting that hot while the motor is still cool id say you will see your problem soon as you open it up...

Took the transmission apart. Didn't have any excessive play on the bearings and the gears didn't show signs of wear. No shavings. It looked really good. It's now full of grease. We'll see how it goes.
