*SCX Front battery mod thread* *POST UP YOUR BATTERY MOD'S* I needed to fab up a front battery plate for a friends 2dr jk im working on.. While rummaging thru the stock pieces..i came up with this. 2 plastic servo post 4 spacers 1 stock battery plate pretty straight forward and easy to whip up. 1 spacer between the servo post and frame and 1 between the plate and servo post on each side. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...0/IMAG3994.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...0/IMAG3993.jpg Happy Building! |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Nice-looks like it came that wat outta the box! |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Nice! does it stay in that orientation with a heavy battery on it? Did you manage to stabilize it so it doesn't "hinge" on the servo post mounts? I am building a kit right now, I may give this a whirl |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Just lock it down with a nut. its pretty tight..normal trailing it shouldnt move. However if your the tumbling type...more securing is a goodthing.:ror: A ziptie thru the velcro slots on the plate to the chassis would be easiest. |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Check this one out. Similar. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx-10/517198-boogies-deadbolt.html |
Re: SCX Front battery mod I used the spare servo mounts when i did mine that way. Drilled new holes in frame and battery plate |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Thanks for the pix. I have to start digging through my parts trees! |
Re: SCX Front battery mod I did a very similar thing but used the battery retainers from the Traxxas e revo battery tray. One per side. |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Got bored and moved my battery too. Did it just like the first post except added a little more color as they were the only parts I had. Then had to figure out where to put my electronics.:x I'm waiting on my new motor before I finalize where they all go. So, for now, I have this mess. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...ps471ca20c.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...ps22412618.jpg |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Thanks for posting the info!! I just swapped my battery up front. Took about 15 minutes. "thumbsup" |

Re: *SCX Front battery mod thread* Mine took all day. But I also installed a project box and made a custom mount for my new electronics location. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...3eb5d3528c.jpg |
Re: SCX Front battery mod i want that project box!!! i have my battery the same way, works great |
Re: *SCX Front battery mod thread* $3.49 at radio shack. And a custom mount. |
Re: *SCX Front battery mod thread* After the battery/electronics relocation, it is fairly heavy up front. Im gonna take it for a test drive today and see how it works. Finally stopped raining here in SD, so there should be plenty of "creeks." |
Re: SCX Front battery mod Is the radio shack project box waterproof? If not can it be sealed easily to waterproof it? |

Re: SCX Front battery mod thanks, i just dropped my battery and speedo down quite a bit with this mod.. i had both shimmed and sitting on top over the servo which was better than stock but still pretty high up compared to this simple mod.... |
