Default Where to buy Dingo Plastic short wheelbase links?

Hey guys, I have an SCX10 bare bone chassis I purchased and I'm looking to put my Boom racing Rubicon body on it which uses 290mm wheelbase. Any idea where I can source the plastic Dingo links? I don't feel like spending $70 on the metal Axial links as this is a beater rig and I can't seem to find any aftermarket links for cheap in that length. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see the 313mm plastic links everywhere but not the shorter ones.

thanks!

Ah, so that probably means there are no plastic dingo links then? That would explain why I never see any. I guess I'll have to take the plunge and just buy the aluminum ones. Is it possible to modify a set of the longer 12.3" wheelbase links? I have spare sets.

thanks.

Threaded rod and revo ends

revo part#5347
8/32 threaded rod
and 1/4 tube to cover the rod

Here's a video. I made mine the same way as his except I didn't use a tap, I just threaded the ends using the rod itself by twisting it on and off til I got the depth that I wanted.. and although i bought the tube to cover the all thread I haven't actually cut it and put it on yet as the all thread hasn't been hanging up on anything. Also, you can use a hacksaw and a file to cut the all thread.

or there are these, though they still aren't cheap

You could also probably post in the wanted section of this forum. I bet someone has them laying around. Isn't the Deadbolt the same wheelbase?

Yep, that's the correct one. AX80043. I actually just purchased 2 sets off RCMART for about 7 bucks each. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for all the help guys. Even has the 4 link truss and Y link for 3 link setup. Awesome!

Hey guys,

So I bought 2 AX80043 parts trees which comes with 2 x 4 link trusses, 2 Y links and 8 links (2 different lengths). I'm assuming this isn't just for the dingo because the wheelbase ended up only slightly shorter and not dingo length when I ran the 4 link setup included in the kit. It looks like I get dingo wheelbase by running the 3 link setup (2 shorter links on each end and the Y link on the top on each end. If I run the 4 link with the links included I get a much longer wheelbase. My problem is, I don't have the proper links to run the dingo wheelbase for the 4 link setup, it doesn't seem like the kit is made for 4 link dingo wheelbase. I can only run Y links on one side since only my front axle has the 3 link truss, my rear axle comes with a 4 link truss from the factory. So again, I'm stuck. Links are too long to run 4 link setup. Y links are the correct wheelbase but I don't have another 3 link truss for the rear axle. Ugh... stuck again. I don't see any 3 link trusses for sale anywhere unless I go with a vanquish metal one which makes no sense. If I were going to spend money on that, I might as well get the metal dingo links. I'm just trying to get away with a simple cheap alternative because as I said this is just a beater. I already have a scale Rubicon that I'm blowing huge amounts of money on.

Any suggestions on what I could do? I essentially need shorter upper links for the rear only or a 3 link truss for the rear axle.

BTW, for retailers that were willing to ship to Canada, the costs came out to almost $68USD shipped. That's more than I want to spend on links.

A cheap solution I guess would be to cut one of my many extra plastic links to a shorter length and drill a hole through it, but I guess I would lose the ball link. Anyone have any idea what length I need eye to eye for the upper links on the 4 link dingo setup?

thanks,

Bry

I used stock scx10 honcho aluminum links and shortened them with a tubing cutter then tapped them for M3x.05. They work great and saved some $. Had to do this for my 4-link setup.

For me to get centered in the wheel wells my lower are 113.4 mm and uppers are 105.6 mm. That is eye to eye. It gives me a wb of 11 5/16". My axles are slightly clock, but only slightly giving the wheels a 7 degree inclination.

Well crud I thought we had this all solved and you would be on your way..

Have you considered just making your own links with 8/32 threaded rod and revo ends? its actually pretty easy just use a dremel or hacksaw to cut the threaded rod and a file to knock off the burrs. some people use a tap to make threads in the revo ends.. but its not necessary. you can put aluminum tube over the rod to make it look purrty but its not necesary either. Doesn't cost too much and you can make them whatever length you want and change them later if you change your mind.

here's a video on it.. but like i said you don't have to do the whole thing.. espeicaly for uppers.

Traxxas 5319 Steel Pushrods Revo 2 5 3 3 E Revo for Progressive 3 Rockers | eBay
I like these
5mm steel rod with m4 threads and heavy duty ends.
Cut easy with a hack saw to length then m4 die cut new threads on cut end.
Just under 8 bucks a pair here or 8 bucks at my local hobby shop.
All thread is fine but weaker overall and you have to cover those threads.
This way you buy as many as you need cut & thread and you have strong, smooth, cheap, bendable custom links.
Thanks traxxas

He's looking for the upper links for a 11.4" wheelbase which I believe is 104mm eye to eye.
