I am surprised you noticed it . I was experimenting with that piece of metal to mount the cage to the body. But it was not going to work. I ditched the plan to mount the honcho cage and ordered SMF cage H063 instead. But I used the same piece of metal and bent it in a U shape to mount the honcho cage to my truck earlier. So that way I can flip open the body by removing just 2 clips in the front. Honcho body mount

Yeah, I can see how the bumper would be in the way. I did not have a rear bumper on my honcho. So it was an easy flip open body. I really like the honcho body. But I didnt like that it stretcher about 2" beyond chassis. Anyways, the hilux body with a cage should look more scale.

I had built a cage for a Hilux body but when I changed it up I went with a F350 hard body I found on eBay I am probably going to shorten the rear to make it work..

I am also doing a hilux/mojave scx10 build. I ordered a smf cage too and im trying to figure the best way to make it easy for changing batteries without un bolting the body every time. ive been thinking about maybe hinging the hood and using magnets instead of drilling holes i just gotta make sure the body lines up to where my battery is.

I like your hilux rear cage. What chassis are you using? And where did you mount ur battery with the hilux?

That was a stock SCX10 chassis. And the battery was mounted be a jevne battery plate. The cage is for sale BTW it's collecting dust.

Its been almost 8 weeks and I am still waiting on my SMF rear cage. This long delay is making me completely lose interest in my hilux build. He keeps finding reasons to delay it but this time he said his son was in the hospital with an infection. Hopefully he can ship mine out soon.

What kind of times have people experienced with SMF? 1 month, 2 months or more?

In the past I waited about three weeks for a SMF rear cage, I liked it enough to order another. At this point I am 10 weeks past the 6 week quote. I too have e-mailed them and thus far each time it is something else. We shall see, last contact was two weeks ago and was informed the cage would be out "soon."

Last week he told me he could not ship coz the lights were out. Not sure why that matters. Starting to wonder if these actually ship from china.
