Default oldpunk builds a scx10 (*sorta)

Ok then. Everything has finally shown up. I just have to put it together. My problem is time. I don't get much to myself so this will probably take a while. I like to drag it out anyway cause the build one of the best parts.

I say it's a scx10 but there's not really a whole lot axial parts in the box. I'd put this in the 1.9 scale forum but I'm not really into the whole scale thing.

The truck is based around the Toyzuki frame, engine mount, transfer case, skid, cms and D60 axles. This will be my first truck with a cms so that should be fun.

Hit a snag with the cms. Kinda stopped there for the day.

It's a roller! I never imagined the links would be such a pain in the ass. I think I've got it sorted out now. Wheel base is right 12.5" and everything clears at the moment. I'm also ditching the 103mm shocks for some 90mm.

Ordered the stuff to do the narrow xr mod. Pretty happy with the ssd steering set up though.

Not too much progress to mention. I improved the pan hard link so I get full compression now. A spacer and a hammer took care of that. I still have to figure out the body mounts and make a battery tray. I had a local guy make me a pretty sweet SS tubing bumper yesterday. Waiting for stuff to get delivered again...

Still mocked up. Need to fix a couple of small things and mount the winch.

I just realized that I did a horrible job documenting this build. It's a shame as there were a number of hurdles to overcome. The cms, running the slipper, the links all needed tweaking. I found pre-made titanium links that work perfect and put me right at a 12.5" wheelbase... The cms works but I think I can still improve it. Need to wack the panhard link one more time with a hammer.

If there's some interest, I'll go back and show what I did.

I am interested. I thought the comanche was 12.3 wheel base. How does it line up to your wheel base? My build was either going to be the comanche or the Cherokee. I chose the cherokee primarily because if I were to get a 1:1 rig it would be what I would go with.

The wheelbase difference is only .2" so it's no that bad. I've got the rears centered and cut the front more foreword. It rubs pretty bad though. I need to either cut it some more or raise it up a little. I went with the Comanche because there's probably a small army of Cherokees out the now. Probably going to go with a jconcepts ford body next.

Updated the body. Also slowly starting to dislike some of my ssd products. Broke a cvd yesterday. Boo! lol

That rear looks great!!! Cr mod is next up on mine. I did the rear axle first and now I am back to a 50/50 weight split and makes the crawling a little worse
