SCX10 Deadbolt tucked front bumper. What are my options for a front bumper that doesnt stick out so far from the front tires? |
Re: SCX10 Deadbolt tucked front bumper. I could describe it to you but really the best thing to do is read up on some build threads and see what others have done to the Deadbolt, I just bought a Deadbolt 2 and I'm doing the same thing...there are tons of builds since it has been around so long. I bought a new bumper for mine and will post it up in my build thread if I start one (the truck gets here tomorrow but all of the bits/pieces are scattered around and won't arrive for a few weeks). For my OG SCX10 when I had a Jeep body on it I just drilled new holes in the bumper mount (the tubes that insert into the frame cross member), slid it in further, and bolted it down. That moved it in a 1/2 inch or so. You just have to look at the relationship between the components and remember it is only plastic :) That stock bumper sits too low, too far out, and is too wide. That's why I ordered a different one and will be making my own frame cross member/mount to move it up and in. I like the body a lot on the DB but it looks like it is just slapped on the frame in a mock-up and that's as far as they got with it :( I suppose that's what you get when you use the same chassis, brackets, and body mounts for 3 different trucks. |
Re: SCX10 Deadbolt tucked front bumper. The proline Ridgeline narrow bumper might fit your needs. I got one on a Bronco build, can fit LEDs inside the bumper and has a spot for mounting a winch |
Re: SCX10 Deadbolt tucked front bumper. i drilled some new holes in this RC4WD shorty bumper to bring it in quite a bit http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...002_082145.jpg stock photo for reference (notice the entire slotted portion has been removed) https://www.rc4wd.com/ProductImages/Z-S/Z-S0641-1.jpg |
