Default Electronics Selections and suggestions

Hey gang, getting pretty excited the SCX10 II i Preordered, It's going to be my first kit build and as such I can use some suggestions as to electronics.

What electronics will you be putting in yours?
What parts will you be swapping over from your previous builds?

Cheers!

I'm going to try to keep it on the cheap. Possibly go with what comes in the SCX10 deadbolt RTR.

I have an extra esc/motor out of a rubicon that will be used.
I also have a Futaba servo that will prolly get used.
Only thing I need is a rx/tx

Been thinking about this, I'm gonna have to go cheap to start as this wasn't in the cards for this year, So a hw/dynomite wp esc with a Tekin 40/45t motor cause those mtrs don't turn without power being applied, Savox or Hitec wp servo and a castle bec and I have a wp receiver already.

I also preordered the kit from Tower last week and have been asking myself the same question!

I already have the Tactic TTX300 3-Channel System from current my Tamiya CC01, so I think stick with that and order another Tactic TR325 receiver to match for the SCX-10 II (keep the other receiver mounted in the CC01). I was thinking about just going with an Axial 35T brushed motor and AE-5 ESC to start out (cheap).

AE-5 ESC
Novak Terra Claw 20T (or higher turn, still looking)
Tactic TTX300 tx/rx
Savox wp servo

Also on the cheap - using Tower coupon codes and Amazon gift cards help keep costs down as well

Holmes Torquemaster Expert 27T - Put one in my Wraith Spawn and have had really enjoyed it
Holmes Torquemaster BR-XL ESC
Savox SW-1210 WP Servo (Also have this in my Wraith, love it)
TTX300 RX/TX - I've got 3 of these for various cars as they're so cheap on ebay. They fit my hand well and I like them
Various 2S and maybe 3S batteries

Debating the light kit/light bars to fit the rack - It looks like the roof rack needs a fairly odd sized light that only comes in that Axial kit. Also going to order a winch after I get the kit and verify the space in the front bumper, as Axial hasn't posted what fits in there/drawings for it yet.

I'm picked up the
Holmes BRXL and Holmes 540 40t, for the first time, pretty excited!
Servo: still undecided
Tactic TTX300, get the job done.
Really like to run 3s

Hoping to really scale this one out!

Sounds similar to my setup. I'll also be using a 7955tg, Sidewinder, CC BEC (probably at 7.2v) but Futaba radio gear. I've got a fairly new 35t Tekin sitting here that I may use. Gotta try to keep costs down since this wasn't a planned purchase.

I have a kit on preorder. This is what I plan to put in it:
My favorite motor: Holmes Crawlmaster 13t (I have seen that Holmes will build you a 550 can Crawlmaster. I can't wait to try that motor)
Hitec 7950 Servo
Mamba Max Pro w/ BEC at 7.4
My Futaba 4PLS

Great combo, love that motor on 3S! , the rest of your setup is nice too.

I have an AE-5 that came out of my Bomber. I will probably go with a cheap brushed motor like an Axial 27t or 35t. I'm hoping to pick up someone's unwanted Tactic TTX300 tx/rx cheap. The only place I will spend the biggest money is a steering servo. I like my Savox 1230sg I put in the Bomber. I'm thinking of getting one with less torque to save a few dollars.

Buy same servo that is strongest of all u run, then you can swap between all your crawlers as backup. It's only couple bucks more and in the long run you'll thank me.

I'm really not sure about what motor to get since I'm using this as a trail truck. What motor/ESC makes for a moderately fast truck that isn't completely helpless on the rocks? The Roc412 seems overkill.
